25.01.2022 Wow...slow mo really does allow you to appreciate how well your horse can jump.! Ayla on fire!

24.01.2022 Hannah and APH Solace clear in the 1.25 Junior...what more could you ask!!! Another on point warm up by Jennifer Wood!!

22.01.2022 I don’t often buy professional photos of the horses at events, but Chris from Geosnapshot photography does a great job...and I wanted to surprise the Eschol girls with some memories of a great weekend at the Forbes Showjumping comp. Myself on Solace ...while he is dreaming that he is jumping 1.30cm...or avoiding a snake under the fence. Ayla, Little H and Hannah on multiple rides. Nice tops and jods you may say- Delzani Equestrian all the way !

22.01.2022 Bit more nag spam from the DESA training day today....

22.01.2022 First DESA training day of the year. APH Bubbles having his first jump after being out for a few months with a minor lameness. I had a bit of a ride but Ayla took him off me and showed me how it should be done. This is me ....

22.01.2022 Happy Birthday to my little mate Wallace the truck dog. Two years old today. A new squeaky toy to add to your hoard.

21.01.2022 Eschol riders had a great weekend at the DESA Macquarie Showjumping Festival last weekend. Quite a few ribbons but more importantly lots of smiles all round. Ayla has shown the beginnings of a great partnership with Fergus and a really mature attitude to being coached. I think she may have led the Eschol team in the ribbon haul. Little H is transitioning from riding Pony Club style to thinking about her position, lines and rhythm and is so receptive to feedback. I’m not... wearing jodhpurs Pete had some great rounds and was also in the ribbons. Gabrielle has been focussing on her school work as she prepares for her HSC. She did a fabulous job getting her inexperienced OTT around . Hopefully she will surprise us with a new mount in the next couple of weeks. A lazy weekend for me in terms of riding but very busy being part of the DESA team running the event. I had a great day on Saturday riding my ever reliable APH Solace for a 2nd and 3rd. It’s very easy to get Hannah to take the ride on any of my ponies when I am too busy drinking coffee to ride...but she had to beat me by getting a 1st and 2nd on Solace Hannah really enjoys riding the large beast APH Schweiz...I have to say he has developed into an exceptionally beautiful boy. Her own OTT is the loveliest fellow and will make the best young horse for some lucky rider. And as usual we all wore our Delzani Equestrian gear...under all our coats! Delzani Equestrian We are all hoping to get to the Waratah comp at SIEC in a couple of weeks...so watch this spot! Photo- Solace and Hannah on their way to winning this class.

21.01.2022 Woohoo... Team Eschol Equestrian were the winners of the first DESA Teams Challenge event held at the Forbes Showjumping competition today. All teams had great rounds...a few hiccups here and there but what a fabulous event!

20.01.2022 The team ...and some random photo’s from the backend.

17.01.2022 Hannah , Gabrielle and I had a great day at the Jen Wood clinic on Saturday. Gabrielle and her new partner look as if they have hit it off first ride ...can’t wait to see where to from here ! Hannah had fun containing the rather exuberant leapings of APH Schweiz. She backed up today and sent him round again....this time over a somewhat larger course to get his attention. That worked...what an exhausted and well mannered boy he turned into. Little H and Ayla rode very well ...today in preparation for another Eschol Epic Adventure...over the hill to the big smoke. Waratah here we come...except for APH Bubbles who has pulled up lame again today. Wallace the truck dog has been shadowing me ...he knows there is a trip coming up ! See more

16.01.2022 Nothing like dragging your mothers fat pony out of the paddock to do a clinic. Ayla had a great ride and fat pony can jump!!

16.01.2022 Eschol Escapades - Day two of Waratah was supposed to be ribbon day for the Eschol team... but we decided to be generous and let others take a ribbon home.Nevertheless we had a great day riding and watching the fabulous Boree Equine riders show us how it is done. Tomorrow is ribbon day!!!!

16.01.2022 OMG ...so exhausted. What a great weekend at the Matt Ryan clinic. Matt has so much experience and knowledge and an analogy to make his meaning clear. I rode three horses each day and was very pleased with them all... particularly APH Schweiz Chokolade (Choko) who pulled up his big boy pants and tried to be less like a B Double. We ended his lesson with a small vertical to a very skinny fence that a 17+ hh horse had no business fitting through. Pete Ryan decided it was time that he showed Ayla and Hannah his style on Inca...I could hear Ayla screeching all the way from boarding school but he did a great job. Our next challenge is to get him in jodhpurs. While he is on a roll, Choko is backing up at the Jen Wood clinic next weekend.

16.01.2022 After a big morning of mowing and clearing rubbish Wallace the truck dog and I decided to have a rest in our favourite spot- the truck bed.

14.01.2022 Day one of the Forbes Showjumping comp ended up being great. We had a bit of a delayed start due to rain ... but after a bit of an early shower it held off for the rest of the day. Little H was first to go followed by myself and Ayla in the 90cm class. Both of the girls had cracking rides. Marco wasn’t fond of the photographers chair right in line of sight of one of the fences but jumper well. Ayla cams away with a third place. Hannah and Schweiz had lovely rounds in the 70 ...and 80 cm classes. I’d like to say that he is settling down and starting to understand...but we will see! I have as really pleased with Solace’s round in the Eschol Equestrians 1.10 class. Photo below. There was some very smart riding and cracking rounds but he still went well enough for a 4th place. We have been really lucky to have had Jen Wood and helpers run three fabulous Forbes comps over the last few months... not too far to travel, great gear and courses and great footing. Hope it all continues next year!! See more

13.01.2022 Great day for all Eschol riders today at the Waratah comp at SIEC. Ayla was the only place getter- 2nd in the 90cm . Little H rode two lovely rounds with a couple of rails. We plan on having a winning day tomorrow!!!

13.01.2022 Mmm...sometimes I post things and they end up elsewhere...2nd attempt. Thinking that I may become a dressage queen with this fellow....or maybe just trot around looking good in the car park!! Both Duncan and Hannah were rather impressed with his movement.

11.01.2022 What a cool dude APH Schweiz is turning out to be .... and what a fabulous rider Lachie Dawes is. Hannah couldn’t make it to DESA today .... and I planned on not embarrassing myself by getting on and squealing every time Schweiz looked sideways. Lachie introduced Schweiz to jumping in the warmup arena with horses tearing around left right and centre and then took him for a beautiful canter around his first ever Showjumping course....and over the brick wall like it wasn’t there!

11.01.2022 A nice round for Hannah on the rather fat APH Bubbles. Time to start locking them up off the clover!

10.01.2022 Four rounds before 10am ...done and dusted at the Forbes SJ comp. Beautiful horses ...one rail all weekend. Loving all the Delzani Equestrian gear that the girls and I wear. This top is a fav... so comfortable and a great colour that I can match with all my riding coats... yes I do have a few!! Wallace the truck dog had a great time when he slipped his collar and made me chase him around the arena...fun for some!!!

10.01.2022 Enjoyable day 3 at SIEC. We ended up with a couple of rails each but were happy with our rides. Hannah piloted APH Solace around his first 1.20 course after an on point Jen Wood warm up. Gabrielle had a great learning round in the 90cm and backed up with a fabulous 1metre round. One more day of jumping...then back to the grind!!

09.01.2022 Another fabulous Jen Wood clinic today. All Eschol riders rode very well and felt that they are now prepared for upcoming competitions. Not only is Jen an encouraging and positive coach .. she is also a very good multitasker - taking magazine quality photos while instructing.! APH Solace, back in from the paddock, gave me an interesting ride and the very attractive APH Marco Pierre just did his thing with no fuss. Then there’s the artistic photo Grey in the setting sun! Hannah did a great job guiding the young APH Schweiz Chocolat around the course while he thought it was too cold to behave. I have to say that the Delzani Equestrian jodhpurs that we all wear are just so comfortable... they make me feel quite slim ... until I see photos of my muffin top.

09.01.2022 Had a fabulous weekend at DESA’s Jennifer Wood clinic. Even the bitter weather couldn’t take the shine off how well my ponies went. Funny how you think you are jumping 1.30 on your baby until you see the video!! APH Schweiz Chokolade- jumping around least 1.30!!

08.01.2022 Ayla having her first ride and jump on Bubbles.

07.01.2022 When the sun comes out the short sleeve Delzani competition shirts come out! So comfy! All team Eschol were fitted out with Delzani Equestrian gear again this weekend at the Forbes Showjumping comp...and we looked good! Pity the photographers skill level was low!@ Delzani Equestrian

05.01.2022 Great weekend of riding at the DESA James Hetherington clinic. Was very pleased that Duncan Edwards came out to have a ride on the new boy APH Schweiz before Hannah rode him in his first ever clinic...in fact his first ever jump. Duncan’s help allowed Schweiz to go bravely and Hannah to ride him with confidence.....the only anxious one was me!

03.01.2022 Day two and we still haven’t made idiots of ourselves. Hannah and I both rode better than yesterday...over a tough enough 1.10 course. Tomorrow we have Hannah in the 1.20 Junior class and Gabrielle having her first ride for the weekend in the 90cm and 1 m classes. Wallace the truck dog loves these trips ...he makes it hard to hold two horses out for a pick while he sits on my shoulder snapping at them cause he thinks he is so big!

03.01.2022 While some of the Eschol Equestrian team are at home waiting for the next great adventure...others are off holidaying near the beach or swanning around central Australia. Another fabulous Christmas Day is done and dusted with no new Antares saddle sitting under my tree. Guess I will just have to laze around watching Netflix on my new iPad while I sift through the rest of my Christmas bounty. Lovely gifts and food but most of all the blessing of family....particularly the ev...er patient hubby Peter. My eldest sons girlfriend, Sophie, swapped a ride in her Super Hornet jet for a ride on the super APH Solace... and looked to be a natural - yay! My youngest sons partner,Emily, and our Grandson Harvey joined in for the madly noisy Christmas morning ...then we were off to Bodangora to join my brothers and 92 year old Dad for more eating and much more noise! Whilst my mind says have a ride my body says - lounge and Netflix...so I guess that is the end of the 2020 riding year! 2021 will bring new goals and dreams and more Eschol Equestrian excellent adventures.... cant wait! See more

02.01.2022 APH Schweiz Chokolade became a big boy today. First set of front shoes...with farrier Troy Lomax teaching him how to be brave. He looks rather large standing next to Peter.

01.01.2022 Long story warning! How lucky am I. First I got the opportunity to add another fabulous APH horse to my team...this one by APH Lubeck. APH Schweiz was broken in beautifully by Sam Barton and polished up by Carlene. At 62 I was feeling a bit overwhelmed by this very big beast, work and the other horses....so put him down the back paddock.... Along came Polly (Hannah actually ) and decided that it was time for Schweiz to earn his feed. I think she has an underlying desire to bring on a young horse in her own style, but not wanting to have to answer to Andy if Hannah hit the ground, I felt that Schweiz needed to go to an expert for a bit of a social adjustment. I was very pleased that Duncan Edwards chose that moment to return home from breaking horses in at Scone.... Duncan has had some experience with the big moving APH horses and has a real connection and understanding of the horses that he handles. Kate secretly told me that he jumped on Schweiz bareback..in a halter after I left... Duncan kept me up to date with his progress by video ...I was happy for him to stay there forever and just watch the videos, but there are just so many times your 17.2hh beast can stand on a tractor tyre before the trainer makes you take him home. I always have an excuse up my sleeve if I am a bit scared so pulled one out and Duncan passed the reins to Hannah for a ride. Very happy with how Duncan has brought this beautiful horse along for me, and the wisdom he passed on so I can confidently ride him....if Hannah lets me! I highly recommend Duncan to anyone who wants a horse broken in or socialised in a quiet gentle way. Many videos to come!but I had to show you Schweiz on the tire first. See more

01.01.2022 Another lovely weekend at Forbes. Team Eschol arrived with 3 riders, 3 support crew, 4 dogs and 8 horses. We ended up leaving with the same numbers .. so that’s a win!! Two horses pulled up lame so it was starting to look like a relaxing ...I’m having a coffee and a chat weekend. Day one had its ups and downs as it is with horses...but credit to Ayla and Little H for sticking to their guns and committing themselves to working on position and rhythm. Ayla had a couple of fab...ulous confident rounds today and Little H ended up winning both her classes. Big Hannah just gets on APH Bubbles after a couple of months and does her thing! A lovely 2nd place on him and a 4th on her OTT Battle Fury. Saving the best for last... Hannah had a lovely round on Saturday on APH Schweiz Chokolade and offered to ride him again today in his first 70cm class... thank goodness cause he put his head down and launched her. I kept filming ..as you do! See more

01.01.2022 All the Eschol Equestrian team and most of the support crew headed out for another fabulous DESA day today. We had a bit of a mixed bag of horses today... a very young one doing his second day out...a four oldies just coming back in.... a couple of OTT’s ...a young horse just stepping up the grades and The Boss getting reminded who really is the boss. You know it’s been a great day when all horses and riders achieved that bit extra and finish with a smile. As well as riding well the whole team looked fabulous. We planned for it to be a Delzani training day where we wore Delzani training jodhpurs and competition tops of various colours and styles. We looked good...so we took sillly photos to mark the occasion.! Here are a few photos of the day.....
