11.01.2022 I used the phrase, 'don't look a gift horse in the mouth' the other day and found I was trying to explain it to my friend so here is a short definition from 'the phrase finder' 'Don't be ungrateful when you receive a gift'. The origins of this phrase is found in the time when horses were the mode of transport and a commodity to be traded when the age of a horse was determined by their teeth.
