25.01.2022 A great supporter of the Animals Family in Will Fowles MP helping out local businesses in the Burwood/Camberwell area. We're grateful to have Will on board and hope to see him at the ground again in 2021 cheering on the Blue and the Blue!

25.01.2022 A special treat for the Animals Family. Footage from the rooms after the game, including a sing along we all hope to do together soon..

20.01.2022 WE'RE GETTING BACK TOGETHER...IN PERSON!! Good news Animals Family, council have given us the green light and allowed us to hold our AGM inside the clubrooms at Bennettswood, and the bar will be open! Come on down and get back to Bennettswood, and also have a say in the future of the Animals.... AGM Wednesday November 25 8pm Bennettswood Reserve Open and ready! Must be worn when mobile

20.01.2022 The boys were in a relaxed mood before the game, with the weather a tad ominous early. Breezy and overcast conditions would pass however as a relatively sunny spring Melbourne morning would reveal itself.

20.01.2022 Our final post of the day, but one that is held in the highest regard. We came together as one at the end and belted out the song at our home at Bennettswood. Whilst this has been a tough year, moments like this keep everyone going, as we search to repeat them again in 2021.... We hope you all enjoyed the...#flagiversary

19.01.2022 Congratulations to these two legends of the Animals Family for being nominated for the 2020 SmartCompany Resilience Awards.

18.01.2022 The Third Quarter. The Premiership Quarter. The quarter where the Animals came out and put the game on a 180 degree swivel. After having it most of their way up to the main break, Aquinas suddenly found the Animals a much tougher opponent than first thought, and after kicking an early goal, they would record 3 points for the rest of the game. This would open the door for the Animals. Enter Emerson Lemkau and Jason Schinck. Em goaled early, Schincky late, and the would trail by 7 heading in to the final change with all the momentum.

18.01.2022 Aquinas would push the lead out to nearly 5 goal early in the second term, but the Animals would turn momentum halfway through and bring it back to a more manageable 15 points at Half Time. Tom Birkett would begin to have his impact on the game with this goal to get underway (with some expert Animals Hill commentary), with Ethan "Pickles" Phillips also kicking a major

18.01.2022 The scene at full time shot by Glen Davis. The Animals shot to the front on the back of a 3 goal quarter with Zac Kearns kicking the sealer, and proceeding to commence a lap of honour hi-5ing everyone who would stick a hand out. As the siren went, Animals Hill descended on the ground, and thus an afternoon of wild celebrations began.

18.01.2022 Tough conditions but a comfortable win in the end to start the chase for promotion off strong #ESLvWES #AnimalsFooty

17.01.2022 Today marks 1 year to the day of the thrilling conclusion to the 2019 Season and also the last competitive game the Animals have played. The 2019 VAFA Division 3 Reserves Grand Final Throughout today we will share some fantastic memories, and maybe a special treat at the end.

17.01.2022 We know the announcement yesterday that Melbourne will continue to face restrictions due to the current Covid-19 crisis will be tough on many in the #AnimalsFamily after already having such a tough year. A lot of our Animal’s family come from a range of backgrounds. Regardless if you are new to living out of home, a university student, finding your way in your career, new to the footy club or a top class veteran of the Animals, we all experience adverse mental health through ...our lives. As a family we aim to move towards breaking the stigma of experiencing and talking about mental and or physical health. If you are currently experiencing any health or welfare concerns, please reach out, seek support and discuss your thoughts and feelings with others. Also, don’t hesitate to get in touch with one of the welfare officers for support and guidance on steps for moving forward. If it feels like you need some further support, or it is more comfortable for you to approach support confidentially away from the football club, then we also highly encourage this as well. For this situation we have created a list of valuable and varied resources that may assist you in working through your current experiences. If this suits you, then don’t hesitate to seek the list of resources that will be available on the club website. Don’t forget we are a family and we all care about one another. If you need any assistance with your health or welfare then speak out and seek support.

16.01.2022 We hope everyone in the Animals community is doing well. We encourage you to stay home but stay connected. Whether that be a zoom meeting, a quick text, or even an old fashioned phone call. Reach out to your mates and those that might be struggling. We will be watching the footy tonight but if you are looking for something else to do the Victorian government and our local member Will Fowles has put together some resources...

15.01.2022 Back when you could hug a mate

13.01.2022 Time for that Kodak moment

13.01.2022 Capping off an incredible season in which he won the league's goalkicking title by 20 goals, Tom Birkett was crowned Best on Ground for the Grand Final. Birkett's two crucial goals in the second and fourth quarters, along with his assist for the Zac Kearns goal were crucial in securing the win.

12.01.2022 MEN'S PREVIEW It's a case of taking the extra step for the Animals Senior Men in 2021 as promotion is the only goal. That first step starts with a visit from Westbourne. READ HERE: http://ow.ly/7r5f50EkqQ1... #ESLvWES #AnimalsFooty

11.01.2022 The wind playing havoc but a late surge sees the Animals hold a handy 40 point lead at the main break #ESLvWES #AnimalsFooty

11.01.2022 It was cagey start for the Animals which saw Aquinas take the upper hand, kicking four goals to one in the opening term with what was still quite a stiff breeze to the road end of the ground. Harry Wines would slot the opener of the ground, much to the joy of the large, and continuously growing, contingent of the Animals Family at the scoring end.

09.01.2022 The Thirds have a tough reintroduction back to life with a strong MHSOB side recording a strong win #MHSvESL #AnimalsFooty

09.01.2022 As we look back upon last year's incredible run by our Reserves on to the flag, we reminisce upon the incredible Preliminary Final that see'd and saw'ed so much it changed the weather! A strong opening half was capped with a six goal second term saw the Animals lead by four kicks at the main break, but the return from the rooms saw it evaporate faster than the precipitation could fall as Melbourne's spicy spring weather once again turned in a predictable performance. As the f...ourth term began the lead swapped hands multiple times before Zac Kearns decided with two minutes to go he would call game with his third of the night. A hurried kick forward hit the deck, splashed, and apt for the conditions, Kearns would shark and goal, and sending the Reserves to an unlikely Grand Final berth against minor premiers Aquinas. Tom Birkett kicked five himself in yet another dominant performance, which would continue his run of 13 straight games dating back to 2018. Josh Webb and Fraser "G-Train" Walker would have Best on Ground performances off the backline as they shut the yellow and black's last ditch attempts to reverse the result. Jubilant scenes at full time as the Seniors ran on to the field were matched with a rousing rendition of the song, and an immediate shift in focus to the following weeks decider.

08.01.2022 The boys head out of the rooms to write a new page in Animals history. It will also be the last chance to preserve the Animals record of winning a flag in any level in every decade of existence...

07.01.2022 An important message from our President...

07.01.2022 Today marks the one year anniversary of the beginning of one the VAFA's best fairytale finals runs in history (in our opinion...) Our Reserves secured their finals position with a 105 point win over Canterbury in Rd 15, but went in to the finals following a last round loss to Richmond, seeing them finish 4th and setting up a clash with Manningham, a team they went down to 3 weeks earlier in atrocious conditions. However the Elimination Final was a vastly different story, as t...he Animals romped home at Garvey Oval with a huge 11 goal to 4 second half winning 102-36. Emerson Lemkau kicked 4 in a BOG performance, while gun Full Forward Tom Birkett was too much to handle, kicking 3 of his own. What are your memories of the start of this dream run?

07.01.2022 Our return to Bennettswood awaits...

01.01.2022 A strong win against a gallant but undermanned Westbourne side #ESLvWES #AnimalsFooty

01.01.2022 We start with the side named for the day! Three changes were made for the big day, with co-captain Adam Athorne finding his way back in after missing the week before with an injury. Kieran Mair and Harry Wines also found their way in to the side for the day after the Senior's heartbreaking loss the week before. The two sides had not met since late June, where Aquinas ran out 77 point winners at Bennettswood Reserve.
