24.01.2022 The temporomandibular joint is like a sliding hinge connecting jaw bone to skull. It is a joint that holds a lot of tension in horses (and in people) related to stress and discomfort. Indicative behaviours such as jaw clenching, teeth grinding and even windsucking can exacerbate the tensions and discomfort around this area. This great post by Tammi shows some ways to help release tensions held in this joint. Make sure your horse is relaxed and there is nothing expected of them after trying these. Release of any tensions can be emotional so be aware of what your horse is communicating to you

21.01.2022 How good does it feel to be greeted in the paddock, just look at that face! Weather and travel have kept us from training the last few weeks. To say I am excited to get back in to it tomorrow is an understatement!

07.01.2022 While uncertain times are upon us I want to reach out to everyone. Around the world there is grief, negativity, anxiety, pain in abundance....The world has changed. Things are different. Now, more than ever, is the time for compassion and connection. If you need help, if you are not coping, or if you are just bored and need someone to chat to! Reach out, to me, to friends, to family, to co-workers, to services (there are plenty out there to help). We are isolated but not alone. Stay safe <3 #charliemackesy #solidarity #covid #love #compassion
