25.01.2022 Ride reminder 5.15 today Rod 0427712902

20.01.2022 Forecast is 30 degrees at 6pm so if it is still that hot late today I’m a no show Rod

17.01.2022 Some much needed slashing done - still lot of pruning needed but top section very flash now

17.01.2022 An excellent AGM & general meeting very strong turnout, so thank you everybody for your time & constructive conversation. New secretary treasurer is Eric Maley, Vice P Jumpin Jake & the old warhorse back as Pres. With so much interest & enthusiasm, we are able to all work together to build the club & take on roles of maintenance/improvements etc.. at the Piggery & plan a few away rides, perhaps more social ride/races. My wife’s birthday has priority today, so I’m a no show for this evening’s ride

16.01.2022 This arvo ride reminder 5.15 start - new timber berm at Rob’s Ridge Run Rod 0427712902

16.01.2022 First time out for a while on weekend 3 laps with Turbo Toby track was starting to dry out so watch out for loose sand in corners ATM. Big thanks to Ryan Meldrum , Dale Bosenberg & I think Bones (not even sure of first name aren’t nicknames great) for the berms work on the Robs Ridge Run. There’s still a realignment needed as second berm just does not flow well from first berm. Thanks also men for your berm work on Speelman Slope watch out if ridin...g as some are quite sandy and now dried out. From looking at Ryan’s & Dale’s strava times (KOMs), they’re absolutely hammering down some early sections. As discussed with Ryan, carpet is probably best option on some sandy berms, so hopefully some cooler weather coming up so we can organise a few bodies to assist with laying carpet. I have some at home & will see if I can get some from Florissons plus have just organised with Choices to get a SUBSTANTIAL amount of long & wide used carpet in a couple of weeks. It will be too big for the mighty Econovan, so if someone has a tandem trailer, can they give me a hoy please. Take the time when next out to read some of visitors book lots of positive comments priority has to be signage & soon. Rod 0427712902 See more

16.01.2022 Esperance Shire have approved $35K for MTB track study - now we wait for consultation and hope the scope didn't exclude Dempster Head.

16.01.2022 Wed aft ride reminder Sat/sun busybee - Pat has access to a bobcat this weekend plus my son Shane has a small tipper, so we are going to bring some dirt to Western Power Plunge to improve the lower berms, see what dirt we can get to Speelman Slope berms & if time permits modify the entry berms on Rob’s Ridge Run so they flow better with a bobcat & plenty of clay, Pat will likely make it amazing. The weather is looking Ok it’s a 5 days away I know max of 25 J, so can I have some indications of availability asap please. Rod 0427712902

14.01.2022 I’m a no show for this afternoon due to work but weather is not looking great either Western Power Plunge & Speelman Slopes almost completely renovated over Sat/Sun thanks to those who helped - Shane & his tipper, Ryan, Brad & Wim on Sunday & Pat and his bobcat massive amount of work Pat two full days - he was even out there at 5am Sunday morning . Next project is signage Rod 0427712902

12.01.2022 My shoulder & knee are still quite raw from my Sat get off. I’m back on the roadie however don’t want to take a chance on dirt just yet so won’t be there this arvo. Hopefully get some rain soon as what we compacted is drying out & becoming loose Rod 0427712902

09.01.2022 Common ground are running a survey to identify sites for new (official) mountain bike tracks around Esperance. Have your say and see if we can win back Dempster Head and possibly drive some more investment in trails around town. Find the survey on the Shire website.... https://www.esperance.wa.gov.au/ See more

07.01.2022 Massive thanks Pat Malone - 2 very full days out there & that bobcat work is not too different to riding a bucking bronco. Your whacker packer is appreciated but it is not my friend. Pat was out there 5am this morning as well. Thank you Shane Parsons for 5-6 hours yesterday & his tipper - huge help there, and of course Rod’s no expense spared wheelbarrow Yesterday- Ryan Meldrum, Brad Landers & Wim’s help after lunch today & bringing us some sandwiches & drinks - topped us up nicely If you see Pat or Shane, make sure you give a thanks as machinery is costly to run & every time their put it in bush small (hopefully only small) damage occurs- thanks to all who contributed
