25.01.2022 Its Grand Final Week!!! As our club has a chance at bringing home 4 flags this weekend. Whats your best memories from grand final day?... This year we have 16s, Colts, Womens and League all going for premiership glory.
24.01.2022 Reserves go down by 7Points in a tight game. Well done to Steve, Bear and the lads on the season. You did the club proud boys.
23.01.2022 Bulldogs Bark First weekend of finals and it was a good one for the club. On Saturday we hosted the 2nd Semi-finals. To start the day off was the under 16s they had a great win over Condy/Newtown moved into the Grand Final in 2 weeks time well done to Reece, Carl and the boys. Then was over to the Colts and what a game of footy that was, they had a hard fought win over Condy/Newtown they also moved into the Grand Final in 2 weeks time well done to Pancho, Roger and the Boy...s. Onto the League our boys were challenged for the first half with the score being 5-0 30 to 4-9 33. Ports takin a 3 point lead into the main break then Hass with some great coaching got the boys back to playing their best footy in the 2nd half. With Whitey showing why he won the Hepburn also why Woody was named Footballer of the year. Jake kicked a great goal after getting a hard hit then doing a black flip for everyone to enjoy All 22 players played a great role in a great win. Reece in his own words kicked the goal of the year maybe even the best we have seen for some time. The league boys moved into there 9th Grand Final in 9 years. They will Challenge Ports or last years Premiers Gibson in 2 weeks time at Ports oval. But was some bad injurys out of the game with Jye Reynolds getting a nasty knock in the first 10secs of the game and Jurgs broke his ankle with only few minutes left in the game. To Jye the commitment you have showed this season the drive down from Perth to play footy shows the sort of person you are and the club holds show much respect for you. Jurgs what can we say the nicest bloke at our club and we love you the boys are here for you if you need anything as you know us bulldogs stick together through thick and thin. Rhys Wood and Brendon White was named players of the round for our last 3 games well done lads. Then onto Sunday our under 14s took on Ports and wasnt the result we all hoped for the boys and girls went down in a hard game but not without a fight well done to Steve, Sheldon and the team on a great year we have seen you improved all year and next season will only be better. Then was onto our Reserves was a do or die final and didnt play like it the boys had a great 1st half only just being down at half time. Then with the Midfield took control in the 2nd half and the boys pulled away winners by 4 goals and move into a Preliminary Final next weekend Vs Condy/Newtown at Newton Oval. Well done to Steve and Bear. Looking forward to this weekend. Our People Our Colours Our Club Our Year Go Bulldogs

14.01.2022 On behalf of everybody at The Esperance Football Club, we would to convey our deepest sympathy on the tragic loss of our former dual Premiership player Andrew Sharpe. To Andrew's partner Melissa and his children Max and Annika, please accept our sincerest condolences and know we are thinking of you at this horrible time. At the Bulldogs, Sharpey was always known and remembered as being 'just a genuinely good bloke'. Andrew came up through our junior ranks and at only 19 was ...a good enough player to be a rover in the starting 18 of our 1987 Premiership side, considered by many to be the second best Bulldogs team of last century behind only the 1970 undefeated team. In 1988 we made it back to back premierships with Andrew again an integral part. Sharpey had just as much courage as he had skill and it was sadly this courage which resulted in him having his footy very prematurely ended just shy of 50 games with one concussion too many. He never shirked putting his head into a pack, but unfortunately always seemed to be at just the right height that somebody would invariably whack it. One of our last memories is a photo from our 1988 Bulldogs Bark showing Andrew being assisted from the ground with one arm around Frank and the other around Pancho. The caption has Frank saying 'Well this is a first Sharpey, the game hasn't even started yet' . . . and Pancho asking 'Just how did the coin land on your head anyway?' Andrew also shares an extended family history with the Bulldogs, his two older brothers Robbie (a member of our 1976 premiership team) and Colin both playing for us as did his sister Maree's husband Richie Braybrooke. The Sharpe family business of Readymix has also been a very long term and very generous sponsor of The Esperance Football Club. Words can never be enough in times like this but to all those who knew him Andrew will always be a much loved Mighty Esperance Bulldog and through our proud history future generations will get to know of him too. Again our deepest sympathy to Sharpey's family and the Bulldogs are here for you whenever needed. See more

11.01.2022 Bulldogs Bark Great weekend last weekend with winning 5 out of the 6 games over Condy/Newtown. Followed by a great night at the Last Man Standing with a lot of money raised for the club. Well Done to Wade and Co for winning the $2000. This weekend we are at home to Ports for our Indigenous Round starting tonight with the Womens at 5pm, Reserves at 6pm and League at 7:30pm.... Between the Reserves and League game we will be doing a Welcome To Country Ceremony and have Andrew Beck and David Riley on the Didgeridoo. Then we move on to Saturday with the u12s at 8:30am, U14s at 9:40am, u16s 11am and Colts at 12:20pm between the u16s and Colts we will be also doing a Welcome to Country Ceremony. Its the U12s last game of the season and this team have improved out of sight well done to Liam and Jude you boys have been great. Saturday Night is the Hepburn Medal starting at 6:15pm with the doors opening at 5:30pm. We have some great chances this year, For the League both Wood boys been playing some great footy, Can whitey win his 2nd or will it be a our big man who finished 2nd last year Sam Franzone. The Reserves Vote count will be a ripper as well, Will the old boy Rowan Hogg get enough Votes till steal it or will our Big Ruckman Dillan Ward continue his great season and take it home? The colts count should be very tight and no doubt our boys will be up in the voting this year. Can Liam Baines top off a fantastic year or will high Flying Melvin Tataya fly high enough and win the Medal or will it be young gun Sheldon Graham? Womens Vote count we won it last year can we make it 2 out of 2? Taya Strickland has been playing way above her age and seems to find the football every game or will it be the mother Nicole take it home? so many chances on Saturday night Im sure someone will surprise us all these questions and more will be answered on Saturday night. Lets all get down to the club this weekend and continue to show why we are the number one club in town. Our People Our Colours Our Club Go Bulldogs

06.01.2022 ESPERANCE TEEN PLAYING DIDGERIDOO AT AFL MATCH ON SUNDAY Will you be tuning into watch the West Coast Eagles take on GWS on Sunday afternoon? If you do make ...sure you pay attention during three-quarter time because Noongar-Murri boy David Riley from Esperance will be performing the didgeridoo at Perth stadium. Mr Riley is in year nine and has been playing the didgeridoo since he was six-years-old. "My dad he got it from the trees, from the hollow woods in the bush," he said. "He knocked on it with the back of an axe and it has this hollow sound which means you can cut it down and use it for a didgeridoo." He says hes never played in front of such a large crowd, but hes excited to get up there on Sunday. The full story played on ABC Saturday Breakfast, listen here: https://www.abc.net.au//saturd/saturday-breakfast/12562902 (starts at 7 mins 20 secs) supplied: Johnine Graham
