15.01.2022 Marine Rescue Western Australia Awards Nominations are now open for the 2020 Marine Rescue Awards. Honour the outstanding achievements of volunteers with the Ma...rine Rescue by nominating them for the 2020 Marine Rescue Awards. DFES volunteers, employees and members of the public can nominate through the nomination website at https://fes.awardsplatform.com/ . Nominations close 4pm Thursday 2 July 2020. Award Categories and Criteria Awards are available in the following three categories: Award for Youth Achievement or Contribution to Youth Development The future of the service depends on youth volunteers. This award will be presented to either: A standout volunteer or cadet under the age of 25 years who shows exceptional qualities and has made a remarkable contribution in the past 12 months; or A Marine Rescue group who has contributed significantly to the development of youth volunteers. Criteria: Exceptional dedication to duty OR demonstrated outstanding effort during an incident. Achievement in community education or awareness programs Demonstrated leadership, reliability, dependability and teamwork. Award for Outstanding Individual Contribution The Award for Outstanding Individual Contribution is the most distinguished and highest individual honour in the Marine Rescue Awards. It is presented to a volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution to the Marine Rescue in the past 12 months. Criteria: Exceptional dedication to duty OR demonstrated outstanding effort during an incident. Achievement in community education or awareness programs Demonstrated leadership, reliability, dependability and teamwork Marine Rescue WA Award for Outstanding Group Operations Marine Rescue WA protects over 13,000 kilometres of coastline with just 1,700 committed volunteers. The Marine Rescue WA Awards (previously VMRS Awards) are our way of celebrating the outstanding efforts of our volunteers who have shown a high level of dedication to the Marine Rescue and WA community. The MRWA Award for Outstanding Group Operations recognises a group who has excelled in all aspects of volunteering for Marine Rescue WA. It is presented to a group who have made an outstanding contribution to the Marine Rescue in the past 12 months. Critria Outstanding rescue or activity. Demonstrated excellence in preparedness, response and safety at an incident. Exception dedication to duty to effect an operation. Award Eligibility All current, active volunteers with Marine Rescue are eligible to be nominated for an award. Nominees must meet all the criteria in the award category. Award Ceremony Award recipients will be announced at a ceremony to be held at a later date.
