24.01.2022 In order to break this vicious cycle of repressed anxiety, how do we spot anxiety in children and what are some effective early intervention measures to ensure that we deal with anxiety in children properly?

18.01.2022 CALL TO ACTION: The Medical Board of Australia (MBA) is targeting medical doctors who integrate ‘complementary medicines and emerging treatments’ into their pra...ctice - placing patient choice at risk. If adopted, proposed changes could see Integrative doctors restricted from recommending vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements, natural therapies and diagnostic testing which will inevitably compromise individualised treatment plans. The MBA is seeking public feedback because legally it has to. If you value access to holistic healthcare and support doctors’ right to offer it, let the MBA know you support Option 1 - to maintain the current standards via the link below. It takes just a few minutes to protect your right of choice. https://www.yourhealthyourchoice.com.au/mba-submissions/

11.01.2022 Esprit Psychology is now taking bookings in Beerwah. For an appointment please call us on 0407 613 099 or send an email [email protected] Esprit Psychology’s fee per session is $130.00. Kelly is a Medicare Provider; this means a person with a Mental Health Care Plan is eligible to claim a Medicare rebate, initially for the first six sessions. Kelly is also registered with WorkCover Queensland, offering psychological intervention for approved work cover recipients.... Kelly Sweeting is a Psychologist with experience in a variety of areas and is committed to effective outcomes for her clients. Consultation with Kelly is confidential and outcomes focussed. Sometimes making that first step to booking an appointment is really hard, especially if you are unsure what counselling or psychological intervention may entail. Here is some information that may help: - Consultation will last for around 50 minutes. - The first session will be dedicated to hearing your story and help you consider what you want to achieve through therapy. - After the first session Kelly will discuss alternative interventions and identify the best match of intervention for you. - After this Kelly will work towards your goals and set tasks to practice outside the consulting room in the real world. You will have the opportunity to review your successes and barriers and work these out in session - Kelly will also work with you on ways to monitor your progress through the intervention to identify that progress is happening It is important to remember that psychological interventions are not a one size fits all approach and intervention should be tailored to the individual. It is also true that not every person will connect with every Psychologist or Counsellor. It is important that you feel comfortable and safe to share your story, without feeling judged for your behaviour or emotions. Psychological intervention covers a wide range of areas and can be useful for people: who wish to change or manage behaviour; who are having difficulties managing a loss or adjustment; who are having difficulties in a relationship; experiencing mental health condition; with a family members who has a mental health condition; and having difficulties at work. Whatever the difficulty, if you feel that you are ready to make change, all you need to do is give us a call and discuss appointment options!

07.01.2022 Guess what's happening? That's right! Our new office walls are up and construction is underway. Exciting times ahead!

07.01.2022 At the moment, if someone with a mental health condition needs help, they might feel like their only option is to call an ambulance or go to an emergency depart...ment even if that just makes things worse. Some Geelong ambos and mental health workers realised that, and they came up with something better: No more lights. No more sirens. No more busy EDs. Just a normal car, a paramedic and mental health worker. It's such a simple idea and today, their idea became a reality. Soon, a Victorian-first trial will see an experienced paramedic paired with a specialist mental health nurse. They'll be able to give people the right care, in the comfort of their home. They'll ease the pressure on our busy emergency ambulances and emergency departments. And they'll make such a big difference for the people who need them.

07.01.2022 https://youtu.be/Z29ptSuoWRc A great way to rethink how we look at our thoughts and emotions. It's worth a look.

06.01.2022 Both the Coalition and Labor pledge to throw millions more at youth mental health service Headspace, but former clients, social workers and mental health policy experts say the model only helps young people in the "Goldilocks zone".
