25.01.2022 Being a Mum has brought out a fiercely protective side in me . I instinctively nourished and protected our little man as he developed and grew throughout my pregnancy. I prepared myself in mind and body, to welcome him into the world in the most nurturing, calm and physiological way I believed possible and that felt right for us. Since he has arrived I have been determined to nurture and care for him in the most holistic way possible, in the hope that as he grows he will be ...empowered to value himself and his own health & wellbeing. My work with doTERRA has become such an important part in doing this! My commitment to supporting families as they prepare to welcome their babies is now complimented by my love and passion for these oils. Past, current and future clients...if this resonates with you, I would love to support you to create the same opportunity for your family. Tamara See more

15.01.2022 As Birth Trauma Awareness Week comes to a close, I wish to share this piece from @the_kerrie_adams; It’s important to address that what is one persons pain is another’s pleasure. What constitutes a traumatic birth for one woman, it may not for another. That birth you deem perfect and quick ... she may have thought it was the worst thing ever. That birth with all the interventions that could be judged as so wrong, she may actually be quite fine with. In the end it’s for h...er to perceive, label and then journey through. Birth trauma is what she says it is. Your story and how you feel matters.xo What we have come to understand, is that often birth trauma stems from women and their support people feeling uninformed, unheard, judged, disregarded and without choice. When this is turned, when women have a great sense of understanding & trust in their body and their right to be respected & heard, it is amazing what can transpire

13.01.2022 Post Updated This is such an interesting read and provides great insight into the importance of nurturing the flow of oxytocin as we prepare to welcome our babies, during labour and then beyond, into the postnatal period. However, in my experience as a midwife, there are certain unavoidable situations that at times warrant the need for synthetic oxytocin. I truly believe that it is in these times, that your knowledge and understanding of how to nurture the flow of your naturally released oxytocin, really comes into play. http://www.birthingwisdom.com.au/oxytocin-under-threat-rhe/
12.01.2022 The work of Rhea Dempsey excites me! It is very in line with how I encourage and support women and their birth partners to view birth. Creating opportunities for birth partners to feel comfortable in the birthing space and step into their role with confidence, is something that I feel so passionate about. This article is a great one for your male birth partner to read. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to hear how your birth partner stepped into their role on the day and how that made YOU feel .http://www.birthingwisdom.com.au//BarefootMagazine-BirthAn
12.01.2022 October is Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month This amazing Australian based Not For Profit organisation is doing incredible work, as they strive to create awareness and highlight the need for greater support during the heartbreaking, often lonely path of pregnancy loss & beyond. Take the time to have a look at this clip and check out their website to learn more about them & the resources they have available. After all, if we have not experienced pregnancy loss ourselves, someone we love in our lives is sure to have endured this loss & pain. Let’s grow the #circleofsupport for all those effected, so that they do not have to journey alone

08.01.2022 Birth Matters... It matters because it is the way we all begin our lives outside of our source, our mother's bodies. It's the means from which we enter and feel our first impression of the wider world. For each mother, it is an event that shakes and shapes her to her innermost core. Ina May Gaskin I am honoured to be a midwife & work alongside so many dedicated, passionate and skilled colleagues that appreciate the significance of our role. Today we celebrate you
08.01.2022 What a truly amazing gift it is to be a Mum Happy Mother’s Day! To quote the beautiful words of Hannah Dahlen... To all those women who have grown babies, adopted babies, fostered babies, longed for babies, cared for our babies, lost babies, held their babies or grown their children up - you are amazing... To the children who grow up because of us, in spite of us and with us - thank you for making us better people To our partners who share us, watch the manifestation of the best and worst of us and never try to compete for our love - thank you. 05.01.2022 I kept up my yoga practice right up until the week before Otis was born It helped keep my mind calm yet positively focussed on all that lied ahead of me as I prepared for my birth journey. My body was supported to feel balanced and aligned. My breathing techniques were also put to good practice as I found time and space for the two of us to connect. We are so lucky that Kelly is now offering Pre Natal Classes...please follow this link to find out more . If you are on the other side of your journey and have already welcomed your Little One into the world, Kelly’s child friendly yoga classes might be just perfect for you!
