25.01.2022 It takes around 80 years for a tree to be big enough for logging, yet it takes at the very least 200 years for it to be big enough for a natural hollow to develop for our native wildlife to use for nesting! Not only our we loosing our native wildlife’s homes to logging & farming but also here on the Gold Coast to our motorway expansion. Progress is natural, however we need to consider the holistic effects of progress & how we can sustainably support those effected by change.... This Christmas we would love your help in helping us rebuild hollow nesting boxes out of recycled hardwood for our local birds, gliders, possums & bats. Why not give our voiceless friends of the forest a safe place to sleep & raise their young. We will be working with industry leader @habitec_arb to build as many new homes as possible at our forest academy location which is a 10-acre nature reserve. All classes will remain in operation including our Active & Healthy community classes as we have a COVID Safe plan. However, we have a no mask no class policy! But we have 250 FREE masks available for students who do have one or forget bring one. Everyone aged over 12 years old must wear a mask when indoors in public, unless you have a medical exemption or are doing strenuous exercise. Meaning no masks required during Barre, Pilates or Yoga classes. However Yoga Beginners, Yin + Roll & Release classes you will need to wear a mask Where possible, we encourage you to bring your own equipment such as a yoga mat. The guidelines indicate that the total number of people must not exceed 1 person per 2 square metres. Giving Essence of Living the total capacity of 54 students per class. However, all of our classes are capped at 50 students & Barre classes at 35 students. We encourage everyone to please practise hand hygiene and we will continue to keep clear records to assist with contact tracing.
