14.01.2022 With much, much sadness, we must advise everyone of the loss, yesterday, of Leonie Catlin. Leonie was one of our most active volunteers over many years, within our Junior Section. Her husband, Jason continues to work tirelessly in the same role and also as an ECC Committeeman. Sons Mitch and Ethan also represent ECC wonderfully in our U14 and U16 Junior teams, with Mitch also recently debuting in senior cricket with our 4th XI. More importantly than cricket, Leonie and her f...amily have shown us all the meaning of courage and strength as they’ve collectively fought through Leonie’s illness. Their love and support for each other has been obvious to all who have dealt with them during this time - and it’s been both heartbreaking and beautiful to watch. Sports clubs often toast star players and club legends as heroes. Leonie, Jason, Mitch and Ethan are heroes. We know everyone at ECC will join in supporting them as much as we can in the time ahead. 03.01.2022 Fantastic news in Bomberland today with James Seymour being selected in the Victorian 13-man Sheffield Shield Squad for Saturday’s game against the Redbacks. Jim has had an astonishing last 3 years with the bat through Premier Cricket, NT cricket and a short stint in NSW Premier Cricket. If selected, Jim will become the 40th Bomber to represent the Victorian Cricket Team. We wish Jim all the very best and look forward to what hopefully will be a successful debut!! #BomberPride

01.01.2022 Attention Essendon Juniors. Help wanted! We need a scoreboard operator to assist at Windy Hill on Saturday. Our regular star, Nirave is unavailable. I’m hoping a 1st or 3rd XI player not involved in playing, can assist. It’s easy to do. Maybe two volunteers can knock over an innings each and keep each other company? Please let Jenny or myself know if you can help. Tobes.
