25.01.2022 Thanks to Coles for our Community Grant; we are very appreciative as this will hopefully enable us to invest in some new technologies and equipment for the upcoming summer season and beyond #lavic #colescommunitygrants #coles https://www.facebook.com/194652980596932/posts/3526886230706907/

16.01.2022 Just a little 'umour for our ELAC Members, during these troubling times. Stay safe everyone

14.01.2022 Competition is returning to Essendon Little Athletics!! Planned start date November 21st 2020. After months of lockdown and having the 2019/20 season cut short, we can't wait to welcome returning and new members as we celebrate 50 years of this great Centre. ... We understand the sacrifices made during these unprecedented times and want to support all families by offering a significantly lower membership fee of $100 per athlete for season 2020/21, with no weekly competition fee required for this season (note: returning families will also receive a 15% discount on the LAVic portion of the fee ($82) which will be coordinated by LAVic.) We are in the final stages of completing our COVID safe planning and requirements in line with Sports and Recreation Victoria and Little Athletics Victoria, our COVID Safe Officers have been appointed so we can provide a safe and happy environment for all of our families. Keep an eye out for the registration portal. We will advise as soon as this is open, as always all registration are completed online. Team tops will be available for purchase at the Centre prior the beginning of competition.

13.01.2022 Although we cannot advise a date when season 2020/21 will begin just yet, please take the opportunity to check your emails and update your details. All at ELAC can’t wait to get back down the track and open the season. We will advise as soon as we can, on plans for the coming season, including dates and format, keep an eye out for updates by email and TeamApp. ... Hope to see you all again soon!

13.01.2022 Registrations are OPEN! The Registration Portal is now open to New and Returning athletes New Members: https://lavic.com.au/centres/essendon/... Returning Members: https://lavic.com.au/membership/returning-member/ We now move another step closer to the return to competition at ELAC, now time to get on and sign up for the 2020/21 season. As we have already shared we have cut our registration fee down to just $100 per athlete, one of the lowest in the state. So now for some important points: To enable us to plan around the COVID safe requirements, we require anyone wishing to compete on Nov 21st to have registered by 7:00pm Thursday November 19th. -All adults entering the track will be required to sign in with a provided QR code on their mobile device. -COVID restrictions allow for only 1 parent to attend, unless a second parent has a pre arranged duty to fill -We will run a modified program in Week 1, exact details will be shared next week with the first events to commence at 8:30am. This will include age group specific start times to minimise the numbers at the track across the morning. -There will be NO canteen or BBQ New athletes are able to sign up for a free two week trial at https://lavic.com.au/member/new-member/trial-athlete-offer/ We hope these restrictions will only be imposed for a short time and we can return to our usual program soon enough. We thank everyone for their understanding and can’t wait to see you all down at the track on Nov 21st.

04.01.2022 Season 20-21 update Although the Victorian State Government has announced that non-contact junior sport may recommence, there is a large amount of admin. work still required before we return to little athletics. Before we may start any form of competition, we await receipt of the Little Athletics Victoria 'Return to Play' guidelines, from which we may then create our ELAC COVID-safe guidelines. Little Athletics Victoria are still waiting for guidelines from Sport and Recrea...tion Victoria. Following this, our guidelines will be submitted to both LAVIC and Moonee Valley Council for approval. Only then can LAVIC open our membership portal for us to begin taking on memberships for the 20-21 season. We hope to have the portal open by mid-November, depending on Government Departments' processing. This will hopefully allow us to start training at the track, with a goal of returning to competition by late November. ELAC committee thank you for your patience and we hope to see everyone soon.
