24.01.2022 Presentation of Clubs shield for Youth of the Year 2019 winner Amy Huynh together with Roberta Channon Youth of the Year Chairperson and Kevin Plant Club Secretary at Lowther Hall, Essendon - 29th August 2019.



23.01.2022 Our club conducted our changeover night on the 2nd July last at the Trieste Social Club, Essendon. The changeover was conducted by our member Ken Taylor on the night. Our guest speaker was Stephen Petrie.

22.01.2022 Presentation of Lions Club of Essendon Youth of the Year Plaque to Pascoe Vale Girls College.

22.01.2022 Our club conducted a Lions Awareness Day at Moonee Ponds Central. Thank you to the members and friends of Essendon Lions for the assistance on the day. Many Lions forms were handed out on the day.



21.01.2022 Presentation to Rosehill Secondary College, Kerry McKay, Assistant Principal by members of our club Peter GIlbertson and Neil Cowie.

21.01.2022 Lions Club of Essendon selling Lions Christmas Cakes and Puddings. The club is selling at Moonee Ponds Central, outside Coles from 9th December until 23rd December from 11.00am until 3.00pm each day. Contact 0407535690

20.01.2022 The club conducted the Youth of the Year Quest last night. We had over 30 people in attendance (3 students, 3 judges and 4 representatives from the schools). A night was lead by Youth Chairman Roberta. The overall winner was Sofia (Pascoe Vale Girls College) and Public Speaking was Lorenzo (St Bernards College). Thank you to the three judging panel Kevin, Loretta and Stephanie.

17.01.2022 Our regular BBQ held in January of each year at Lionsville. The night is a get together with the residents of Lionsville in Essendon. Great night was held with plenty of food available.

12.01.2022 Our club conducted a BBQ at Bunnings on Friday the 22nd June to raise funds for the Australian Lions Childhood Cancer Foundation.

12.01.2022 District Governor Murray visitation to our Club last Monday night with his wife Jackie . A number of awards were presenting on the night. Excellent presentation by DG Murray to our club. Excellent night held.



09.01.2022 Our club has provided funds to enable Rosehill Secondary College to conduct a Breakfast Club for the students. Three members of the Club presented the cheque to the school on 28th June 2019 and was well received by the school.

09.01.2022 Our club have sent 8 cartons of Recycle Eyeglasses this month to add to the previous 7 sent before hand. If you have any glasses that you do not need please a email to [email protected] and we will arrange the collect.

08.01.2022 Induction of our new member Renato Raimondi President Trieste Social Club. Our new member was inducted by Graeme Richardson Membership Chairman.

08.01.2022 The club is conducting Lions Awareness Day on the Saturday 7th March outside K mart at Moonee Ponds Central from 10.00am until 2.00pm. Come down to speak to one of members about what Lions do for community.

07.01.2022 The club donated $900 towards the Very Special Kids appeal with a BBQ at Bunnings Brunswick last month.

06.01.2022 Clubs Changeover night was held last Monday 1st July 2019 and our President Selva for 2019/2020 with the other Board members was installed by Lion Peter Gilbertson.

04.01.2022 Our club celebrated our 65th Charter Anniversary on the 9th April this year. It was celebrated at the Trieste Social Club, Essendon. It was an excellent night with over 50 people in attendance, a number of other clubs were in attendance and also it was a pleasure to have our District Governor Malcolm, 1st Vice District Governor Murray, Zone Chairman Lyn, Mayor John Sipek City of Moonee Valley, Local Member for Essendon Danny Pearson and our guest speaker Alan Murphy. A number of awards were presented on the night. This is a milestone for our club and Lions.

04.01.2022 Essendon Lions Club hosted the Zone 2 Regional Final Youth of the Year on Sunday 3rd March 2019 at Lionsville.

04.01.2022 Our club conducted a Sausage Sizzle to raise funds for the Very Special Kids program last Saturday at Bunnings Brunswick.

04.01.2022 LIons Club of Essendon has recently held a very successful dinner at the Clubs Lionsville Recreation centre to raise funds for Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre. The event was well supported with 85 people attending plus donations from the local community and businesses. At the end of the evening, Club President Bruce Sobey was able to present a cheque for $5,000 to a very delighted Astrid Horter from Safe Steps.

02.01.2022 Presentation to Isabella Russo by Club member Roberta Channon on behalf of the club to the Youth Exchange Student who is travelling to Italy and France on the youth program.

01.01.2022 Our club provided funds to assist students ongoing in developing student voice and agency. Two members of our club attending the school on 21st June 2019 at a school assembly.

01.01.2022 Youth of the Year program held on the 19th February at the Trieste Social Club in Essendon. Wendy Pearson chairperson on the night and fir her first time did a job well done. Two students from Pascoe Vale Girls School and St Bernards College completed on the night. Overall winner Dounia from Pascoe Vale Girls School.
