22.01.2022 For those without a pool at home.... here's how you can get in some training https://www.facebook.com/thehecklerUSA/videos/212806853394660/

21.01.2022 A very special HAPPY BIRTHDAY to club coach Darren, who turned 60 today!

20.01.2022 Former Essendon player Anna Campbell re-located overseas 3 years ago, but still has Essendon in her heart even when she's attending a 2 week intensive academy camp in Spain. She's still mad about water polo, and the Barcelona International Water Polo Academy saw this opportunity to create some marketing! Go Anna! #internationalstar #spotlight

20.01.2022 Now more than ever, Victorian kids deserve the chance to get outside and be active. Back with their friends and teammates back on the pitch, the courts, and t...he cricket nets. But new boots and rego fees aren't cheap and for some families, the cost means that kids miss out altogether. We don't think that's fair. Which is why we're doing this: For the first time ever, up to 100,000 Victorian kids will be given $200 sports vouchers to help cover the cost of getting involved. New bats, balls, uniforms, memberships and sign-up fees can be paid for and the vouchers will be available next year in time for community sport to get going again. I know this might seem like a simple announcement but it'll go a long way towards making sure every Victorian child has the opportunity to follow their passion, do their best and have fun. It'll mean that the next Don Bradman or Tayla Harris doesn't miss out simply because their family can't afford the fees. And it makes things that little bit fairer too.

20.01.2022 Congratulations to Lilly Holtz and Mietta Fink-Jensen on their selection.

09.01.2022 ** PRESIDENTIAL MESSAGE ** As we slowly come out of COVID-19 hibernation we and my waistline look forward to water polo returning. Many discussions are being had with WPV and swimming pools to restart water polo as soon as possible. At this stage we don’t have any firm information around restarting games or training as the COVID situation continues to regularly change. What we do know (preliminary information):... 1. By mid-July we can all train, however at the moment we don’t have access to VUT pool as the pool remains closed we are looking at alternatives. 2. Player membership has been extended to 31/08/2020. 3. Water Polo Victoria is planning a water polo competition with an aim to start at the end of July for 8 weeks. 4. The summer competition (15 weeks) is planned to be played from October thru to March. 5. Sub-junior competition is expected to proceed as normal. 6. Club fees club fees won’t be payable until future competitions are mapped and a club budget can be developed it is our intent to minimise any impact to members during these difficult times. 7. When we restart we will have to abide to COVID safe regulations including having a volunteer COVID Officer documenting member participation movements. If you have any queries around the current the COVID situation please feel free to contact the committee for further information through the email address [email protected] Last Tuesday (23/06/2020) evening we conducted our Annual General Meeting with record virtual attendance and I would like to welcome the below people to the EWPC committee: President - Marcus Jones Treasurer - Brett Pullyblank Secretary - Bryan Wee Club Coach - Darren Steere General Committee : Daniel Gilbertson (COVID-19 Officer volunteer) Cath Steere Torben Fink-Jensen Matt Roberts (EFCSC representative) Mike Holtz Andrew Cover A recording of the AGM is available on the club website along with a copy of the 2020 annual report. 06.01.2022 WINTER COMPETITION OFFICIALLY POSTPONED Communication from Water Polo Victoria : Further to previous communication, the WPVic Board has continued to monitor the continually evolving COVID-19 impact on the wellbeing of members and future participation in the Sport. We are certainly in an unchartered and challenging environment nevertheless the Board remains committed to furthering the progresses made in recent months. In order to provide a degree of clarity it has been decided... to suspend until further notice the 2020 Winter Competition. Future options will be explored including commencing the season in July/August. If the government and facilities relax restrictions before this time there may be an opportunity to start earlier or run social competitions or training sessions which would allow members to get back into water without putting extra pressures on Clubs to enter teams. The WPVic Board is cognizant that any recommencement of competitions will require a lead time for Clubs to organise activities and functions. The WPVic Board will continue to liaise with government authorities and evaluate changing circumstances. Further updates will be advised when relevant. On behalf of WPVic Board and management, I thank you for your patience and understanding in these uncertain times. We appreciate the commitment of all members have to the sport in Victoria to continue to develop and hope that we can come through this trying time stronger than ever. See more
