21.01.2022 Latest evidence for early intervention in autism Australia’s leading autism experts have done an independent review of current evidence about interventions for children up to age 12 on the autism spectrum. Two reports are now available which summarise the latest theory and research about which interventions are more likely to have a positive effect on child and family outcomes. ... This information will help parents and caregivers make informed decisions about how best to support their child’s learning and social participation. More work is planned over coming months to consult with experts, providers, parents and people with autism. We will release a discussion paper soon about how the report findings may be applied in the NDIS Act rules and guidelines. Report summaries are on the NDIS website. The full report is available from the Autism Cooperative Research Centre website.
