08.01.2022 Namaskaram to all. With restrictions eased we can drum together again, yay. But, only outdoors and with a limit of ten people including myself. So with these ru...les in place I am planning two drum circles within the next few weeks. The first one will be a free event held in Yackandandah, North East Victoria, on the Sunday 25th of October, weather permitting. It will be a casual drum circle held in the park where anyone can join in. The circle will be spaced to adhere with physical distancing rules and hand sanitiser will be used before and after playing. All instruments will be sanitised and limited to one person per session. If you have your own drum then you are welcome to bring it along. Masks are to be worn during playing so we will need to play our smiles through music as we cannot see them when everyone is covered. The second circle I aim to hold is on November 1st at Mt. Pilot National Park in the Chiltern Ironbark Forest between Beechworth and Chiltern. This will be held in the evening, and with a full moon it will be a great spot to play and be inspired by the surroundings. We will pay our respects to the traditional caretakers of the land as it was a prominent landmark used by the local Duduroa people. The Yeddonba traditional rock art, at the bottom of the mountain, is some of the oldest in Victoria, with a painting of the Thylacine (Tassie Tiger) still visible having being created thousands of years ago. Details for both events are listed below. Please note: as the circles are to be limited in numbers it is important that you register your attendance to secure your spot. There will be more events later in the year to allow wider participation. If you are interested in having a drum circle for your group or workplace, whilst adhering to restrictions, then Essential Rhythms is available to organise and facilitate a circle for you. We can supply all drums to inspire and invigorate your event or gathering. Just send a message for more information. Free Out of Lockdown Drum Circle Date: 25th October, 2020 Location: Sir Isaac Isaacs Park, Yackandandah. North East Victoria. Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm Cost: free Please register to guarantee a spot if travelling from out of town. Drum Circle @ Mt. Pilot National Park Date: 1st November, 2020 Location: Mt Pilot, Old Coach Rd, off Beechworth/Chiltern Rd (C377). Time: 6:00pm - 8:00pm (may go longer) Cost: $15 per person Drums will be on location so you do not have to carry them up. Limited vacancy so be sure to book in early. On arrival at the carpark you will be greeted and directed, until 5:50pm, to where we will be drumming. Late arrivals will hear the drums so just follow the path to the rhythm. It is in the bush so wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Sanitation and hydration will be supplied but best to bring your insect repellent. Due to restrictions and individual diet requirements you may wish to bring some food also. Seating will be supplied. Looking forward to creating some joyful rhythms together. Peace, health and happiness. Shayne EDIT: Change of venue for Sunday 25th. The council wants $113 just for me to hold a drum circle in a park where people gather every day. I have a huge front yard which is 100m from my house, on the main road in Yackandandah. If you would like to join in just send a message so I know you are attending. The physical distancing will be in place.

03.01.2022 Getting ready for the free Out of Lockdown drum circle in Yackandandah. Sunday the 25th 2-4pm. Limited to 10 people. PM for more info.

03.01.2022 Home made djembe stands. Something to keep me busy in lockdown. There are a few other designs I will try but this is the simplest and easiest to store and transport.
