25.01.2022 GOOD VIBRATIONS Yes everything in life is indeed energy - from the galaxies, stars, to our cells. As above, so below. As within, so without.... In Chinese medicine terms, we view this as Qi and it corresponds to the principle of Yin and Yang (duality). Qi is likened to energy and is present in the sun, the heavens, the air, nature and of course within our bodies. When you receive an acupuncture treatment, we are augmenting Qi so think of it as tuning/recalibration your system to raise your vibrations/frequency. Happy Friday folks, sending good vibes for your weekend . #highvibe

23.01.2022 |HAPPY NEW EVERYTHING| Welcome 2021! Wishing everyone so much love, joy and success for this new year. Let this year be the year of healing.... Healing from the impact of a deadly virus. Healing division & separation. Healing our broken economy and systems. Most importantly, healing our planet. #healinghumanity See more

23.01.2022 |ACUTONICS| Sound & Vibrations being applied directly on acupuncture points. Acupuncture points are portals to our grid system and sound is able to travel 4x faster in water than in does in air. Super potent as 80% of our body is made of water!... What started off as a simple interest- I dipped my feet in a few years ago to learn the basics to acutonics just to indulge my curiosity. Then started using it in conjunction with my other treatments and am blown away how deep the healing can be. Fast forward a few years later- I thought I'd continue with some advance classes... and before I knew it, I have just finished all of the advanced levels this year. Started at level 1 classes...next minute- finishing off level 9 and don't know how I ended up here. Just completed my final class over the weekend about using the Fibonacci sequence with the tuning forks to unwind trauma through the 8 extraordinary vessels (acupuncture meridians that are deep reservoirs). This one is a goodie! #everythingisvibration #fibonacci

23.01.2022 |COMPLETION| The month that was. April/ May would have been my graduation ceremony but given the times, it was postponed and now has been delayed indefinitely. Unknowingly on a rainy weekend in March, I leisurely took this picture at the Lego store just for fun (And to indulge my inner child). Little did I know that this would be the closest thing to graduation that I would get for the year.... Even though we didn't get to have our fancy celebration I am still so proud to have finished uni forever! (No more uni for me but I will still gladly study short courses and feed my brain ). So cheers to all my fellow classmates and cohort - we did it. We survived: - All those long days and nights studying acupuncture point locations (especially THAT surprise exam at the beginning of the semester after coming back from holidays) - The many study groups for said point location exams which always ended up being a room full of students being half dressed and touching each other - Lighting a needle on fire and then having to quickly stab it into someone (aka fire needling). The challenge of trying to hit an acupuncture point with a flaming needle with speed and pinpoint accuracy. And then having to do this under exam conditions. RIP all those pork belly meats I bought to practice this at home instead of eating. - Digital group presentations - 10% of time actually spent on the content, 90% learning how to use technology. Also thank you to my amazing friend for this heartfelt gift! (Who didn't know how much longer she could hold onto it since there was no telling if I will ever get a ceremony) #newskillunlocked

22.01.2022 |SELF CARE| Take care of yourself first so that your cup will be full and you can give from the overflow. Society tends to praise self sacrifice and putting others first but it is not always sustainable if you end up depleted and resentful. ... Love yourself enough to take care of your needs so others can experience the best you. See more

22.01.2022 |WINDOW OF THE SHEN| It’s all in the eyes. You have probably heard the phrase: the eyes are the window to the soul. In Chinese medicine, we also observe the eyes as part of our diagnostic tool kit to assess a person’s constitution. We call it - observing the ‘Shen’, which translates to ‘Spirit’. As much as the pulse and tongue gives us information on a person’s health, the eyes also gives us clues too. Here are what your eyes may indicate when a practitioner is assessing you:... If you present with: Dull eyes = shen issues > long term emotional struggle/stress, fatigue and depletion Bright, shining, clear eyes = Strong vitality, open spirit/shen Redness of the eyes = Liver fire or wind heat > Irritability & heat related to high levels of stress (Liver fire); seasonal allergies (Wind heat invasion) Yellowing of the whites = dampness which relates to poor digestion or liver issue such as jaundice Dark circles under the eyes, swelling or bags under the eyes = Blue in colour: Kidney energy deficiency > relates to depleted essence and reserves, deep constitutional energy depletion; OR Yellow in colour: deficiency of the Spleen/ dampness Spots in the visual field = often caused by long term overwork and overthinking, a weakness of the body’s nourishing properties #spiritmedicine

19.01.2022 |FAQ| I get alot of similar questions asked in clinic so have decided to collate them and share the answers here. So this will be the first of the new Q & A series! Now back to acupuncture.. generally acupuncture can be quite painless.... You may feel other sensations while the needles are in which can range from a feeling of heaviness, tingliness or even warmth. These are signs that the 'Qi has arrived' or circulation to the area. For some people who are extra sensitive, acupuncture can feel like a little pinch. But once the needles are in you get this wash of relaxation which is actually so pleasant, and then transforms into a little acu-nap. #acupuncturenaps #yesplease See more

18.01.2022 Happy Full moon Today the moon is at its brightest illumination and marks the end of this lunar cycle. It falls within the sign of Aries which has a strong theme of "I am". As a fire-y sign it represents individual identity and the first spark of life. During this full moon (which is also when emotions are heightened), take time to process your emotions before making any sudden reactions. ... Whatever comes up for you- you are you, and that is enough. #lunarvibes See more

18.01.2022 Funnily I get asked this so often as a lot of people want to get acupuncture but are afraid of needles. So common! Acupuncture technically means puncture of the skin with needles and these are done on specific locations known as acupuncture points (which all exert a specific function) or tender points. So to answer this question, there are actually lots of alternatives where we can still stimulate acupuncture points without the use of needles. Here are some examples:... Acupressure: applied pressure on specific acupuncture points Acutonics (my favourite ): Tuning forks applied on acupuncture points where the sound frequency stimulates the points (more on this later) Shonishin: (great for kids- no needles at all) delicate massage applied to acupuncture channel lines using specialised Japanese paediatric tools designed to stimulate acupuncture points So yes you can still get treatment without needles but if you are after 'acupuncture'- you will most likely get pinned. 16.01.2022 |THE GREAT AWAKENING| As the year is beginning to wrap up, there is one last big event that has astrologers and spiritual lovers talking, and that is the planetary alignment/ portal of December 21st. To put it simply, it's a magical date where Saturn and Jupiter are conjunct - meaning the energy of these planets will represent a changing of an era, and a time where we shift our way of viewing the world. ... Jupiter and Saturn will also be aligning at zero degrees in Aquarius, which is also significant as zero represents infinite potential and holds the energy of limitless possibilities. It also falls on the summer solstice for us here (winter solstice in the northern hemisphere) making this energy super potent. On this day, it is great for manifesting and visualising what you wish to attract and what you wish for the world. There is also a ceremony being held at Uluru where the elders will be sending love and activation energy for the good of all humanity. You can join in for the collective meditation. Time to raise our frequency for the new Earth! #cosmicpower Image : @muhammedsalah_ See more

12.01.2022 |ACUPUNCTURE| Did you know that there are over 361 acupuncture points on the body?! And each one has a particular function and action? Also, apart from those 361 acupuncture points, you can also insert needles into triggers points or pain points (aka ashi points) along the muscles. ... There are so many different ways you can use acupuncture but it is most widely recognised for musculoskeletal pain which is only the tip of the iceberg of what acupuncture can treat. It can be used for internal conditions like improving digestion, reducing stress, reproductive issues - it even helps with emotional issues by allowing the emotions to be moved through the system to be released. There’s even cosmetic acupuncture too which is like a natural facelift! Think of it as a whole body recalibration - with the inclusion of a little nap in the process #aculife

11.01.2022 |YOU HAVE TIME| It's December already, can you believe we are in the last month of 2020?! It's the home stretch. Where did the year go? Usually this is the busiest time of the year with Christmas /New Years just around the corner and LOTS of social events.... Regardless, time is just an illusion and we all have the same amount of time. So if you have been feeling like you are always rushing and running out of time: - Take 3 deep breaths - Imagine all of your energy that is being leaked out, coming back into your body - Repeat: Life is beautiful and I have enough time #prioritise #staygrounded

11.01.2022 |THE FEELS| It's crazy times right now and the energy feels extra dense. A lot of us are trying our best to be positive while also suppressing any negative 'feelings' we don't want to feel. This can also go both ways- feeling the low vibration emotions, getting stuck there and not expressing any joy, elation or excitement.... In Chinese medicine, if there is one thing we are obsessed about - it is flow. A healthy system is one where nothing is stuck, so we move the blood, qi, fluids, circulation etc. With that same thinking, there is no such thing as a 'bad' emotion' - only stuck ones. So feel everything, move on and be free. Life isn't so black and white, let's embrace all the greys. #letitgo #letitflow See more

11.01.2022 2020 wrap up! What a year it has been - this has been a big year of growth for me. The year of integrating everything in my tool kit- from nutrition, naturopathy, acupuncture, sound therapy (acutonics), kinesiology and of course herbal medicine. Mixing. Brewing. Blending.... It has been a huge year for fertility with 8 pregnancies and 3 births! 2020 was the year for babies. (And cuddles with baby Bella whenever I got the chance @jolea.trinh ) Along with the great, I wanted to also acknowledge the not so bright and shiny news. For the women that also experienced chemical pregnancies, miscarriages and failed IVF transfers - I see you and feel you. I hope that 2021 will bring you more blessings, lightness, joy and success. 2020 has definitely been challenging for everyone and I acknowledge all its lightness as well as its darkness - the yin, the yang and all its greys. Wherever you are, wishing everyone an amazing start to the new year. May it be all that you have hoped for and more. Stay safe!

10.01.2022 Merry Christmas friends! Love this Chinese medicine themed Christmas tree made up of our clinic tools. TCM goodness: tiger balm, po sum, glass cups, red dates, jade facial rollers, Chinese herbs (goji berries & Jing Jie) & jade gua Sha tool .... Have a blessed day . : @eastentialchinesemedicine

05.01.2022 Missing the days where I get little visitors tagging along to their mama's consultations. I really do love it when mamas bring their bubbas with them cause I also get to have all the cuddles while we chat. This sweetheart is also the happiest babe who gives you all the gummy smiles whenever you look at him. (and is happy to chill on the floor while mum is busy) ... Even though times have changed, I hope one day we can go back to having some form of physical contact again. Ahh...one day. #untilthenzoomitis #staysafe See more

03.01.2022 |FIRE CUPPING| Did you know that fire cupping is one of the many tools of Chinese Medicine? Sometimes they are combined together with needling and is great for muscular tightness and pain. ... Although this isn’t the only thing it treats. If you’ve ever had a mum, dad, aunty, grandma etc. do this to you, (if it’s part of your culture) then you may be familiar with it also being used when you are feeling sick with the cold. This is because it also helps to open all the pores on the skin to release pathogens (which in this case is wind or cold when you are sick - according to the philosophy of Chinese Medicine). The fire burns up all the oxygen in the cup to create a vacuum and it is then quickly placed on the skin which causes that suction. If you haven’t had it done before, it actually feels really nice as it relaxes the muscles. Especially when you glide the cup along the skin (with some oil) and you get a mini massage. **This is also not my best fire torch picture, but letting go of perfectionism and going with it! #progressoverperfection

02.01.2022 |ANIMAL ACUPUNCTURE| Did you know that acupuncture is not limited to humans? Animals also have meridian channels and acupuncture points so can receive acupuncture as well! If you think about it, all living things have Qi so of course you can augment it with acupuncture.... One of my good friend is an amazing vet and sent me this photo from the clinic she works at. This acu-kitty looks pretty zen to me. #acukitty

01.01.2022 |MALE FERTILITY| There's lots of focus on women when it comes to fertility as the spotlight usually falls on female reproductive health. We often think about priming the uterus, egg and female hormones. But did you know that men can also get acupuncture to improve fertility chances?... Making a baby is a team sport and 50% of the genetic material comes from men so it makes sense that sperm health plays a major role in fertilisation. Acupuncture can benefit male fertility in the areas of sperm: - Motility (movement or the 'swimmers') - Morphology (the shape & structure) - Count (quantity) Getting men involved and welcoming them to the fertility table is a great start! #menshealthmatters

01.01.2022 |ACUBABY| A little bit of a late post, but welcome welcome lovely Sibella! Our latest acupuncture baby. Although you are a few months old already since I was too slow with social media.... Your mama was a champ and came in every single week for acupuncture leading up to your conception and while carrying you. You are loved so much! #acupuncturebaby See more
