25.01.2022 I think the assumption or expectation is that weight loss looks like a straight downward line from 'this many kgs' to 'that many'. A to B. No detours...Somethin...g this simple would be AMAZING - both in terms of our motivation and how we see and understand 'results'. But in reality? There will be ups and downs and slips and slides. The overall downward trend tells the truth. But in between, you might be gaining here and losing there and seemingly not doing anything different. This might be happening over a week, or two or three. Your scale weight fluctuates because of: water retention, salt retention, strength conditioning, body waste, stress, menstruation and so much more! Follow the trend, not the weigh in's. Don't focus on fluctuations, focus on the trend. Don't get frustrated, don't give up. Focus on the trend, for weeks at a time, and EXPECT that your weight will fluctuate. So when it does, you can keep your cool and keep carrying on Weight loss is not linear and never will be! Xx See more

20.01.2022 We had so much fun this morning with our Fitball workout this morning. A lot of core work, some netball, basketball, soccer and 'dodgeball'! It is amazing how a little bit of competitive sport and laughing can get the heart rate up!! Great job ladies.

Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6am. Tuesday’s and Thursday’s I am also offering 7am Zoom classes throughout June. We would love to see some new faces.

10.01.2022 At Esteem Fitness we have just finished an 8 Week Health and Lifestyle Challenge. It wasn’t all about just losing weight and gaining fitness. It was about fitting healthy eating and exercise into our life and working on our mindset. It was about flexing our willpower muscle, getting out of bed, but also looking after ourselves and being kind, listening to our bodies and resting when needed. As Mums, many of us love being all and everything to our families; but are finding our...selves and doing something for ourselves. Some of my participants know each other, some have gotten to know each other, and some have returned from a few years of doing ‘other things’. The group has been amazing! They have encouraged each other, supported each other and had lots of fun exercising together. Members have also organised our own Spotify music playlist that everyone can add music too. Throughout the challenge I have asked my participants to do some reflections about what they have learnt, what they can work on and their experiences. I was very humbled to read them as a recurring theme was that Esteem Fitness was a ‘safe place’ to return to, to exercise and to be welcomed. Sometimes you do not realise what effect you have on people. I have always known how special all my ladies are, and it is them that get me up in the morning. However, this was written by one of my members and sums it up so beautifully: "I often think of our group of beautiful women as the giant warmth and light shining from a lighthouse, drawing me in, keeping me safe, calm and on course, and helping me on days when I just feel lost... and some days our girls don’t even know the profound effect they have on setting my mind and my day on the right track." Thank-you ladies, you are everything!
