24.01.2022 ~ P O T T E R Y ~ With restrictions sloooowly easing in Victoria, it’s been wonderful to get back to the pottery studio. I made these pieces many moons ago, and brought them with me (unglazed) when I moved - 2150km away! ... Made in Mount Isa, north west QLD. Glazed in Mildura, north west VIC. But 100% NZ made Thanks to my teachers, both world class potters: Michele Savoye @ Arts on Alma Inc Jayne Bawden @ Mildura Pottery Club #pottery #ceramics #potterylove #potterywheel REAL TALK EDIT: Pottery really helps me with perfectionism and OCD. When you're learning on a wheel, if you keep trying to make it perfect - (pulling the clay up too much, making the walls too thin) - it eventually collapses and you have to start again. And that's ok too, it teaches you to overcome challenges and frustrations. I find pottery to be a very grounding activity. Literally, as you're working with clay from the ground, and physically as you have to really ground yourself, lean in, and stay still to centre the clay on the spinning wheel. It requires focus, and you get lost in it. No room for anxious thoughts. Just you and the clay.

07.01.2022 This is fast becoming a dog blog. PUPSICLE vs Sunny Sunshine - and a very disinterested (uninterested?) Millie Pig
