11.01.2022 Spinifex Press author Dr Caroline Norma on ABC Religion and Ethics: "The 'sex work' lobby published pieces warning journalists against broadcasting information ...about the murder victim being in the sex industry. Its advocates tried to argue both that the victim was a mere worker harmed in her 'workplace,' and so the circumstances of her death were unremarkable enough to be left unmentioned and, simultaneously, that, because people in prostitution have a right to 'privacy,' journalists should not mention circumstances of their deaths. They likened being bought for prostitution by a parade of men visiting one’s apartment to operating a 'home-based counselling business,' and described prostitution as an employment activity no more dangerous than any other 'profession.'" Caroline Norma is co-editor of 'Prostitution Narratives: Stories of Survival in the Sex Trade', out now: http://www.spinifexpress.com.au/Bookstore/book/id=285/

02.01.2022 I signing this petition because I agree that objectifying women creates a culture and climate where there is widespread violence against women and children. Turning human beings into a ‘thing’ is almost always the first step toward justifying violence against that person.

01.01.2022 Words to live by.
