02.01.2022 WELCOME TO THE ESTIA FOUNDATION OF AUSTRALIA Caring for People with Intellectual and Physical Disabilities The Estia Foundation is a meritorious philanthropic initiative of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. It was founded by His Eminence Archbishop Stylianos in 1994 as a decisive response of the Church to a great need in the broader Australian community. ... Today, the Estia Foundation has consolidated its recognition as one of the finest institutions of its kind in Australia, providing 24 hour care every day to people with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, as well as assisting their families and carers. It operates within the highest standards of our Greek Orthodox ethos and the most exacting requirements of the New South Wales State government guidelines. The Foundation is a work of Faith, Love and Hope established by the dynamic Parish of St Andrew in Gladesville, Sydney, through the inspirational energy of Father Angelo Alifierakis as the founding CEO. It is supported by the committed Board of Directors, the tireless Administrative Staff and the dedicated Personnel. The Estia Foundation employs some 40 members of Staff and serves some 160 young people with disabilities, providing both temporary respite care and permanent care services. We do hope you will encourage your circle to request our friendship on Facebook. We will keep you informed of the extraordinary work being accomplished by extraordinary people in the service of extraordinary human beings who happen to have an intellectual or physical disability.

02.01.2022 The Estia Foundation of Australia has lodged an application for council approval to commence building a complex that will permanently house ten adults with intellectual and physical disabilities in Gladesville. This Project has been a long time goal of the Estia Foundation. Government funding will be used for operational purposes once the facility is built, however, Estia will use it's own capital obtained through generous donations from the community and fundraising effor...ts to build the complex. Government funding although helpful does not cover all costs. For this reason, the Estia Foundation hosts a biennial dinner where supporters are encouraged to attend to assist in our worthwhile cause. All money accumulated at these events gets injected straight back into the disability sector, for example, the building of the new group home complex. This year the dinner will be held on Friday, 27th September 2013 at 7p.m, at Le Montage, Leichhardt. Cost is $160p/p which includes a three course meal, beer, wine and soft drinks. Dress is Lounge Suit.
