19.01.2022 ~ Moving the Spine: Lateral Flexion / Side Bends ~ It is a delicious feeling to stretch and yawn open the sides of our bodies. How does side-bending benefit our spine, and our state of being? Yoga on the mat is a practice of becoming more prepared for Life. Here's a little more on why and how we can incorporate side bending into our experience.... ~ Link to blog in profile ~ See more
16.01.2022 Emotions are wave patterns, like everything else... there is power in watching them as a pattern rather than believing the story attached to them. ~Mary Taylor, Ashtanga Yoga Teacher From tomorrow, we will be able to share space again in exploring and refining our presence with Self - and with the relationships in Life.... 2020 brings. Whole heap of emotions. Yes, our practice will feel different to the ‘normal’ we once knew. Yes, it might bring up challenges and unfamiliar sensations. The work for each of us lies not in meeting some ideal expectation, but meeting the reality of here and now. Because this IS it. For bookings (essential in-studio and via Livestream), link is in our profile. See you with your mats and props and open heart-minds soon!
12.01.2022 There is joy in our energy moving outward - but also don't forget the most important relationship of all: the one with your witnessing, sensing Self. Here in Melbourne, we're beginning to share space in a more direct way with each other again. You can sense it in the public spaces, in the hugs shared visibly, in the joy of re-connecting and un-isolating. The yoga tradition teaches us about Purusha - the pure, present moment awareness beneath the layers of biases and condi...tioning. This is part of our awareness not stirred by the flurry of thoughts, or the judging critic, or the story-maker constantly justifying how events unfold. Awareness is the space which holds all experience, and it is always available. If we can remember to dip back into its flow, we can also gain greater clarity, steadiness, and compassion in how we choose to respond to Life. Staying available to purusha is a practice which, like a garden, requires consistent tending. This is what we can share together on the mat; an experiment of choosing what to weed, choosing what to grow, choosing how we cultivate the life gifted to us. The more connected we are internally, the more joy, truth and ease we can connect externally. Let's journey together. @sarahpollok // Royal Park, North Melbourne | Andrew & @lucy_lawes See more

02.01.2022 The care of self leads to care of others, and vice versa. If we can become more attentive stewards of our own experience, perhaps collectively, we will also become better stewards of our environment and all the life forms we share this Earth with. Big picture, yes - yet it always starts with the small gestures. It always starts now. Thank you for being such a caring bunch, Estuary yoga folks. We see the reciprocity which happens before, during and after classes... Wouldn't b...e the same without your small and significant acts of kind attention. #walkthetalk #community
