23.01.2022 Announcements today by the government will mean significant changes to businesses. We will continue to work to advise of relief measures as soon as the detail of the measures are confirmed. Banks are now giving relief re loan repayment. Contact your bank directly to determine what us available.

22.01.2022 The State Government has announced each NSW adult will receive $100 of dine and discovery vouchers in the New Year. If your business wants to accept these as payment for a dine or discovery service the business will need to be registered with Service NSW. Service NSW website will have all the details.

17.01.2022 Do you employ Apprentices or trainees? The government have announced wage subsidies for apprentices and trainees to assist employers keep these people in work by subsidising 50% of their wages from the beginning of April. If you need more information on this initiative give us a call at ETAS.

17.01.2022 The ATO have uploaded the process for claiming JobKeeper payment. Eligible employees have to complete a nomination form and provide to the employer. The Employer has to pay each employee a minimum of $1500 per fortnight commencing 30 March if they want to claim. Sole traders are eligible to claim. To be eligible business Turnover has to have dropped by 30% and will be based on GST Turnover comparing March 20 to March 19 or projected April 20 compared to April 19. Once ass...essed, turnover does not need to be reassessed, but you will have to complete a monthly Business declaration. Applications can be made online from 20 April. 16.01.2022 Tuesday is the 1st September. We have until 14 September to report your GST turnover for August and your estimate of GST turnover for September if you are claiming JobKeeper. Payment this month will be for 6 weeks as the ATO are catching up on the fortnight payments.

12.01.2022 Just a reminder the May cut off for JobKeeper payments is 24 May. If you are claiming JobKeeper for your staff please ensure your staff have been paid at least $3000 by 24 May. Don’t forget to exclude any payments that were top ups for April that were paid in May.

11.01.2022 For all sole traders whose livelihood has been reduced due to the Corona virus the government have announced changes to the Jobseeker allowance to assist. We understand you need to go to Centrelink to get an access number and then go home to apply online. The government has proposed dropping income and assets tests to enable those applying to get payments.

11.01.2022 ATO have just announced that the deadlines for lodgement and payment of December BAS and 2019 tax returns have been extended due to the impact of the fires. Want to know if you are eligible for the extension? Contact us at ETAS to work out if you can delay lodgement and payment.

10.01.2022 The ATO have set up the process for finalising the claim for JobKeeper. If you have enrolled you now need to go online via the business portal and finalise the claim for April by uploading employee and business participant details and declaring your turnover for April and projected turnover for May. If you are claiming for a business participant you must complete a business participant nomination form. Call us if you have any queries.



10.01.2022 As advised in the budget in October new tax tables for the 2020 - 2021 year must be implemented by all employers by no later than 16 November 2020. You can download a copy from the ATO website or ensure you payroll software has been updated.

09.01.2022 If you are still on JobKeeper it has been reduced again at 3 January to $1000 per fortnight. If you were claiming for the last 3 months a recalculation has to be done as soon as possible to determine if you are still eligible for the next period of payments.

09.01.2022 Jobkeeper 1.0 finished on Sunday 27th September. To determine if you are eligible to continue to claim under Jobkeeper 2.0 you need to determine if your turnover for the period 1 July 2020 to 30 September 2020 is 30% less than July to September 2019. Don’t include Casflow boost or jobkeeper in your calc. If you are not sure if you can claim please give us a call.

03.01.2022 ATO have announced additional relief for small business to help small business cashflow. If you are required to pay a PAYG instalment of income tax on your March BAS you have an option to reduce this as long as the BAS is lodged before its due date. You can also apply for a refund of tax instalment payments that have been included in your September 19 and December 19 BAS if you are experiencing financial hardship. We recommend contacting us to discuss the overall implications of doing this before any action is taken.

03.01.2022 The government have announced support for business via rebates on PAYG Withholding obligations when you lodge your March to June BAS and declare wages. The rebate will be to a maximum of $25,000 and will be credited at 50% of amounts declared as wages tax on the BAS. For more information or assistance contact us.
