19.01.2022 On Thursday 19th November, Year 9 and 10 ET Australia Secondary College students battled for the right to be called the Champions of Stage 5. The annual contest involved trivia, games of rock paper scissors, a three-legged race, giant noughts and crosses and a chant battle. It provides students a fun opportunity to work as a team with their year group and see their teachers in a very different (and highly competitive) light. Despite some controversial referee calls in Year 9’s favour, Year 10 seized victory. The Year 10 chant, accompanied by Graham’s electric guitar, secured the win. Year 10 were dynamite; they won the fight!

10.01.2022 Five minutes with Helene! What is your role at ET Australia Training College? Training Officer - Traineeships What do you like most about your job? The people I work with. It’s a great team.... How do you think ET Australia Training College is different? Provides quality training and is very supportive of its students. This is confirmed by all the positive feedback we get. What do you like to do on the weekend? Catch up with friends, go out for a meal or go for a walk. What is your favourite season? Spring Do you prefer the beach or bush? I like both bush and beach What do you love about the Central Coast? It has nice places to eat, beautiful scenery and a little less hectic than Sydney. RTO ID 90084

09.01.2022 5 minutes with Michelle O! What is your role at ET Australia Training College? My role within the Training College is Product Specialist. I (along with Belinda who job shares with me) take all incoming enquiries about qualifications, training and programs we deliver. These enquiries might be by phone, email, website, Facebook, webchat or walk -ins. We answer any questions someone might have and also assist in the application and enrolment process. What do you like most a...bout your job? The thing I like most about my job is seeing / being part of the journey that some of our students take. Being unsure / nervous / anxious at enquiry stage to participating in the program, undertaking the study and work placement through to the final stage of completion and gaining employment and / or further study. It is rewarding to be a part of their career journey. How do you think ET Australia Training College is different? I think we are different as we don’t try to be everything to everyone, we have found our areas of speciality and this is what we focus on; aged care, disability, early childhood, business and business administration. We have amazing trainers who provide quality training and who genuinely care about their students. What do you like to do on the weekend? Life is busy with 3 children, but we love the outdoors. We love bike rides, parks, beaches or swimming in the pool at home. We also love camping and going off the radar. What is your favourite season? My favourite season is Summer. After nearly 10 years living and working in the UK, I love blue skies, sunshine and warmth. In the UK we had blue skies and sunshine, but not always the warmth so it was something I missed. Do you prefer the beach or bush? This is hard as we go bush for many of our camping trips but we are lucky as many of the State Forest and National Parks or holiday parks where we camp are near to the coast line so can have the best of both worlds on our adventures. What do you love about the Central Coast? Nothing is too far away ... we are lucky to have so many outdoor opportunities which is great for a family with young children. Sydney isn’t too far away and adventures up the coast are great for short getaways. Oh, and I’m lucky to have a job locally which means no huge commute. RTO ID 90084

09.01.2022 On Wednesday ET Australia Secondary College Year 8 students were introduced to their next topic in French class, which is food! French speaking chefs were invited in to teach students how to make delicious crêpes. Students participated in a hands-on experience cooking crêpes with the choice of two toppings - lemon with sugar or berry coulis with cream. They learnt key French terms related to ingredients and methods of cooking. Students now have a greater understanding of th...e French culture. Hopefully some lucky parent/carers might be able to encourage their child to repeat the process at home, so the entire household can enjoy crêpes!
