The NDIS explains home modifications as, "changes to the structure, layout or fittings of a participant's home so they safely access it and move around comfortably in areas they frequently use." We have licensed builders, engineers and traders who are specialised in providing modification services to people living with disabilities. 18.01.2022 Breathe..... RESPITE is generally negotiated, shorter-term accommodation in one of ETECO's locations. Support is tailored to the client's needs, interests and NDIS goals. ETECO team members maintain a relaxing environment in which our client is comfortable and enjoys spending time in. This allows the maximum potential for learning and developing independence and confidence. We acknowledge that Respite is not only beneficial for our clients but their families. ETECO understand...s that transition between home and other locations and between family and other carers can create discomfort. We work together with families to support them in achieving harmonious experiences while accessing Respite for their loved ones. Respite usually occurs for a day, night or weekend. Stays at one of our sites can happen once a week, fortnight or month and can be ongoing as part of the Support Plan. Arrangements can be discussed with your client services coordinator. One or two support workers may be present to support the client, depending on the level of assistance that is required. Support workers may help with travel to and from the home (depending on allowances), attending appointments, sports training, games, shopping, cooking, cleaning, recreational activities and mentoring. 02.01.2022 Assistance with travel/transport may include the training and support of ETECO participants in using public transport effectively to go to and from school, work, shopping, appointments and different programs. In some instances modifications to vehicles, driver assessment and training may also be arranged. Transport services can be accessed under the NDIS if our participant is unable to use public transport because of their disability. Supported Independent Living meets the exact needs of the client, from support in a shared housing arrangement to full-time specialist support, including overnight care. The focus within this care model is to support our client to live more independently, improve wellbeing, learn everyday skills, make friends, access and be a part of the community, receive assistance in anything relative to healthcare and personal care and pursue their interests. 01.01.2022 IN-HOME SUPPORT services are where a qualified and experienced Support Worker will come into our client's home to provide valuable assistance. ETECO's role is to support our clients in achieving improved self-esteem and build the ability and confidence in their overall well-being, everyday living skills and social skills. NDIS Goals are discussed at length with an experienced Service Coordinator, and a customised Plan is developed in line with the client's own needs and inter...ests. ETECO understands that the process of transition can also be a challenging time for families and guardians, so we offer mentoring throughout the entire process. ETECO clients enjoy building their confidence and skill sets through being supported in many activity-based routines and outings. Activities include but are not limited to; meal preparation, cleaning, homework, exercising, securing employment, conversation and interest-led projects. Community Access may include; attending appointments (G.P, Psychiatrist, Psychologist, Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists), accessing community events, shopping or attending day programs. Recreational Activities include outings to parks, beaches, libraries, museums, art galleries and many other locations depending on our client's interests and needs. ETECO has an emphasis on holistic care and encourages clients to pursue their interests in physical activities.
