Dogs can go downhill and become reactive to certain things, especially when they are not given the opportunity to calm down for at least 2-3 days after it. After learning about BAT (Behaviour Adjustment Training for Fear, Frustration & Aggression in Dogs) Monique started to implement it in Dixon's everyday life, along with clicker training & desensitisation to conflict inducing stimuli. I dub thee Monique a novice dog handler You've smashed every training session & implemented the homework to things outside of our to do list. You've gone above & beyond & even desensitised Dixon to a life jacket. He now LOVES the stand up paddle boarding & refuses to let you leave without him. Before Emilia came on board, this shepherd would pull, bark and lunge with all his might to dogs on a walk. The video speaks for itself. Spartacus now knows that he does not need to react and puts his faith in his owners. ... I admit, I don’t take the before videos because truthfully, when you’re working with distressed clients and nervous dogs, my entire being is dedicated to them and not trying to grab a perfect insta snap. Dog training isn’t always about dogs, it’s about teaching owners how to be confident in themselves and the training. Here Lauren (and Andy) understand Spart’s body language and when it’s time to call it a day or when to move forward. Always giving Spart the cues of hey buddy, I see your emotions and let me control the situation. First we taught him the walk away option then with the clicker, marking all non reactive responses at distances he could work under. Slowly but surely, the distance became shorter and now Spart can walk past dogs. Yes, some days are better than others, but Spartacus is a different dog from 9 months ago. Scammers are posting photos on line of cute little puppies, like these, and once the buyer has paid significant amounts of money for the pet, vet bills, vaccinations etc. then the Scammer ceases contact, and the buyer never gets the dog after having become emotionally invested. The puppies do not exist and the Scammer is likely interstate or overseas, making it very difficult to get your money back or bring the Scammer to justice. Protect yourself by; -seeking advice from a reputable pet breeding association, vet or local pet shop. -Check ABN’s and valid business address, -Check the photos to see how many times they appear on line.
