The auditors are alive to it, the courts are alive to it, the marketplace is alive to it. The Australian public don’t want to see old-growth forests logged and threatened species sent to extinction. - Amelia Young, Wilderness Society

It is clear that any person or organisation wanting to steer clear of unethical products must avoid Reflex and only use paper that is 100% post consumer recycled, FSC certified, and free from illegally processed native wood fibre. 11.01.2022 It’s now overwhelming clear that logging makes forests more flammable. Logging our endangered native forests is leading to an increase in fire risk. Say no to paper products that are made from our endangered native forests, visit the Ethical Paper website and take the Pledge! https://ethicalpaper.com.au/

08.01.2022 serious and irreversible damage The Victorian Supreme Court has granted an injunction to stop logging in 13 unburnt forest areas due to the risk of serious and irreversible damage. These areas are home to the greater glider, the smoky mouse, the sooty owl and the powerful owl. The 2019-2020 bushfires destroyed swathes of habitat for these species, so the court recognised the heightened risks of logging. It’s a positive step and awareness is growing. It’s easy to avoid the paper products that are still being made from the forests.. Visit the Ethical Paper website to take the Pledge, and be sure to share it with your friends and colleagues.

07.01.2022 International complaints have been lodged with regulators in the EU and America over Australian wood products that are in breach of these country’s illegal logging laws. Assessment of VicForests operations by the Wilderness Society found that it has repeatedly harvested in areas where it holds no right to do so, has breached legally mandated logging prescriptions, has illegally built roads and that the state regulator has failed to act as a sufficient deterrent or enforce the law. Complaints have been lodged after Opal Australian Paper products were tracked to international markets. Sign the Ethical Paper pledge today to avoid illegally and unsustainably sourced paper products. Printing shouldn’t cost the earth.

It’s easy to avoid the paper products that are made from the forest habitats of fire affected wildlife. 01.01.2022 231 hectares of steep slopes in Victoria's Central Highlands have been clear-felled an area larger than Melbourne's Docklands. Thompson catchment, which provides 60% of Melbourne's drinking water, has fifty coupes where VicForests have been engaging in the illegal and risky logging of steep slopes. These steep sloped areas provide vital ecosystem services for local water catchments, reducing salinity and balancing nutrient levels. Protect your drinking water by saying no to illegally produced paper products. Visit the Ethical Paper website to take the Pledge, and be sure to share it with your friends and colleagues!
