20.01.2022 What an awesome start to NAIDOC. Great community participation

18.01.2022 Wonderful morning sharing our culture with the Esperance Senior High School staff. We shared ideas about embedding Aboriginal cultural practices into the curriculum and showed some different skills that our rangers have which can be taught to students in the classroom.

18.01.2022 2020 has been an interesting year but we were fortunate enough to be able to celebrate this years NAIDOC here in Esperance. There was a host of events throughout the town which kicked off with our NAIDOC Ball at the Lucky Bay Brewery on the 7th November. It was an honour to host Minister Ben Wyatt along with many local Esperance community members. During the night, we also had our own NAIDOC Awards where we recognized individuals that made a significant contribution to the c...ommunity. The night was a huge success and will be an event not to be missed in 2021. On Monday the 9th November was the official opening of NAIDOC in Esperance at the Shire of Esperance. ESHS Girls Academy, Clontarf Boys and Castletown Primary students performed on a sand mural after official proceedings. After, we walked through town to the foreshore where we had activities and a sausage sizzle. Celebrations like this are so important to build a stronger future for all and we hope to see these grow each year. We would like to thank our sponsors this year for their contributions to make the ball and the opening a success - National Indigenous Australia Agency, Southern Port Authority, Shire of Esperance, Esperance Sports Power, Lucky Bay Brewery, Escare, Esperance Community Arts, Centrecare, HOPE and our NAIDOC Awards selection panel
