21.01.2022 RMS Groundworks & Construction had all hands on deck as the productive and hard work continues at Waterford Oval, Parade College last week. With the installation of the boundary fence posts and the spreading of sand commencing, there was a high amount of activity on site. With the weather providing the goods recently, this reconstruction project is well on track for completion in the coming weeks. Chat to our field of play consultants today about your next natural turf sports field project. #agronomy #construction #education #sports

19.01.2022 ETP-TURF witnessed the installation and pouring of the concrete spoon drain at Waterford Oval, Parade College recently. The concrete spoon drain is an important part of sports field design as it complements the overall drainage system. During the construction of the sports field, it’s always nice to see the installation of the spoon drain as it gives you a very clear visual of where the natural turf surface will finish. This project is coming along in leaps and bounds!... #agronomy #sports #parksandrecreation

18.01.2022 ETP TURF recently visited Moorabbin West Reserve where we are supervising the reconstruction of the sports field. We performed hold point inspections during the installation of the concrete cricket pitch to ensure it was being built as per specification. Inspections during significant parts of the reconstruction process are always critical but are also a very enjoyable part of the job! To learn more about ETP TURF capabilities and how we can get your cricket ground up and running for long term success, connect with us today. #agronomy #cricket #sports #construction

17.01.2022 Recently we were down at Moorabbin West Oval where we were overseeing scarifying taking place at the new oval with Evergreen Turf. Scarifying is an important part of the establishment phase during a sports field construction as it reduces thatch build up. Following these works, the surface will be top-dressed in preparation for handover back to the client in the near future. For more information on this process or assistance with establishing your new natural turf sports facility, connect with ETP TURF today. #agronomy #turfmanagement #construction

16.01.2022 Rhizoctonia disease often rears its head anywhere from spring to autumn when the turf is under some type of stress. Typical stresses could include moisture, nutrient, wear and low mowing. Rhizoctonia is predominantly a root disease and damage is not normally evident until the damage to the root system is excessive and as a result can be difficult to turn around immediately once identified. Control of Rhizoctonia disease requires a combination of fungicides and careful manag...ement for best results. These include deep aeration and watering for effective penetration of fungicides to the sites of disease infections in the roots as well as sensible mowing height and fertilising to assist recovery. For professional advice on how to manage and care for your natural turf sports fields, connect with ETP TURF today. #agronomy #disease #sports #turfmanagement

14.01.2022 It’s always challenging when you nearly lose your field assistant while performance testing turf grounds that haven’t been mown for a while due to the wet conditions and COVID restrictions. #agronomy #fieldtesting #parksandrecreation

12.01.2022 We love this time of year when the weather is warmer and we have the opportunity to get out on some of Victoria’s golf courses to inspect (and sometimes play!). The natural turf surfaces have definitely benefited from the lock downs and limited play, but so have our native roughs with golf courses pushing the regeneration of the indigenous flora. Well done to Sally Benwell and her staff, along with the Frankston City Council for this work on the back 9 holes at Centenary Park Golf Course. #golf #nativeflora #agronomy

12.01.2022 This month we celebrate the wonderful 15 year "Work-I-Versary" of our amazing Design Coordinator Jo Crampton. Over the last 15 years, Jo has balanced new and sustainable innovations with leading sports field design principles to see high quality fields of play created for hundreds of communities. When we asked Jo to reflect on her 15 years at ETP TURF, she said It is a pleasure to work with this unique and friendly group of people every day and that's something I'm very p...roud to be a part of. I look forward to see where we will be in the next 15 years as we continue to grow and expand and deliver incredible sports facilities to even more communities. 11.01.2022 Over the last 35 years, I (Grant Greenway) had a real passion for turf wicket preparation and construction. Starting out in my late teens I was engaged by Sandringham City Council to prepare and construct natural turf wickets for practice and games for the local sporting reserves and cricket clubs. Out onsite inspecting cricket wickets today, I take pride in knowing I have created quite a few high-quality cricket grounds and cricket wickets built for success over the years. ...Properly understanding the construction requirements and the ongoing preparation and maintenance of a natural turf cricket wicket table is critical for successful games and player safety. From watering, rolling, cylinder mowing, pitch preparation, grassing up, marking up, covering before and during games and everything else in between. For decades of knowledge and expertise inside the fence you can trust, connect with me at ETP TURF today. #agronomy #cricket #turfmanagement

09.01.2022 Dendy Park Reserve within the Bayside City Council, Victoria was once upon a time levelled and converted into cricket pitches prior to World War 2. 06.01.2022 Grant Greenway from ETP Turf attend a site visit at Briagolong Recreation Reserve recently on what was a pretty glorious Melbourne sunny day. The successful in-person site visit was to discuss a turf management improvements document that ETP Turf had complied for the reserves various user group representatives. In attendance was Petra Szabo and Lisa Lyndon from Wellington Shire Council, Luke Brayshaw Briagolong Pony Club, Denis Murphy Briagolong Rec Reserve Committee & Bo...isdale Briagolong Cricket Club, Melissa Conway Boisdale Briagolong Junior Football Netball Club and Vanessa Randle representing the Briagolong Community. The discussion and Q&A session provided direction for some of the content of a draft user agreement being developed by Wellington Shire Council for the Recreation Reserve Committee. The purpose of these types of agreements is to provide written guidelines on how the different user groups use the reserve to enable sharing of the spaces in a fair, transparent and reasonable way. For experienced agronomic advice on how to best maintain your natural turf sports surface in the face of regular user group and sporting activities, connect with us today to find out how we can help. #agronomy #education #sports #communitysport

02.01.2022 An important part of the ETP Turf design and supervision package and is that we are readily available to assist our client’s project managers and contractors. We will always take time out to visit on-site and see the progress of works and in this instance it was Jo Crampton our Design Team Coordinator admiring a bit of her design teams handy work. #agronomy #design #sports #construction

02.01.2022 Did you know that ETP TURF also provide agronomic services to Bowls Clubs? We are currently involved with the reconstruction of the No. 3 bowling green at Moorabbin Bowls Club in conjunction with the City of Kingston. Work has amped up since the installation of the lighting surrounding the green and we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel!... Evergreen Turf are responsible for the reconstruction and as always are doing a brilliant job onsite. In this picture, the gravel layer has just been installed in readiness for the ditch units, the sand and then the grass.
