25.01.2022 This poor cactus sums up how I felt at the end of yesterday... knackered and deflated! We spent the weekend packing everything away in our studio ready for new carpet to be laid (finally!!!) as a result of the recent flooding. Our studio will be closed for at least a week and while everything is packed away tightly we hope you’ll understand if orders take a little longer than usual - we can’t actually access anything! BUT, we can’t wait to have new carpet, set ourselves up ...(again) and basically start afresh... again! Omg it’s been a challenging year... Anyway, unlike this cactus (that I’ve had for AGES ), we will be back soon! 24.01.2022 Take 3 Yay! We are back in business post flooding (finally)! Not perfectly set up, but getting there and I’m so eager to get started on some new pieces. Am feeling refreshed and renewed with the new carpet, freshly painted walls and a bit of desk reshuffling... Even my plants are coming back to life! Feels like 2020 has only just started for Ettie with all these interruptions! Now, to get through the school holidays... 23.01.2022 It was short lived, but fun! Even though we didn’t get the full use of our shared studio this year with all the Covid and flooding interruptions, it was awesome to share a studio with this cool cat @dan_tomkins! Lots of giggles, maybe a bit too much talking and lots of inspiration - what a shame it’s come to an end! But it’s time for our roller door to come down for good, ready for a new studio door to open in 2021! More news about that soon... 21.01.2022 So good to see the @rbgsydney PLNTS Exhibition up and running! After being cancelled earlier in the year (due to Covid restrictions), the exhibition is now open daily until 2nd Aug, 10am-2pm. Money raised from artworks will go towards important plant care and research. ‘Take Time To Look Further’ (left) is one of two pieces I have in the exhibition. 21.01.2022 2020 has thrown many challenges at us and to say things haven't quite gone to plan is a slight understatement! So... I'm reeeeally sad to let you know I won't be releasing a 2021 calendar. Like many things this year, it just didn't quite happen. With Covid shutdowns and the studio flooding, I just wasn't able to complete enough new designs to release a calendar I was 100% happy with. BUT, I still wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has emailed, PM’d or enquired a...bout my calendar... it means a lot to know you wanted to shop local and support my small biz once again. 08.01.2022 Current studio situation... was finally ready to come back to the studio after #wfh for the last few months aaaaand it had flooded after all that rain on Friday night! So while we wait for the carpets to dry and with massive noisy fans creating wind tunnels in the studio, I’ve decided to set up office in a little spot in the front area in amongst boxes where it’s a little less damp and stinky.
