21.01.2022 Firefighters Remembrance Day QFES flags will be flown at half-mast across Queensland today as we remember the firefighters who have died while protecting and s...erving their communities. Today, we stop on the 10th hour on the 10th day of the 10th month to honour and pay tribute to our fallen firefighters, as well as their families, friends and colleagues. We are forever grateful for the sacrifice they made to protect others.

19.01.2022 Did you know, that after a fire occurs there is heightened potential for the below to happen?

19.01.2022 Hey Followers, Just a reminder that our wind conditions are forecasted at 25km/hr over the weekend. If you have a permit, be sure to double check the conditions outlined in permit to ensure your compliant with its conditions.... If your looking at doing any burns under 2m x 2m x 2m that don’t require a permit, maybe hold off until the wind conditions are more favourable. Thanks Legends have a great weekend. #Eudlo #QFES #SunshineCoast #ruralfireservice

17.01.2022 They were talked about a lot during last bushfire season, but have you ever wondered what a hazard reduction burn actually is? When conditions are favourable, a...nd a permit has been issued, landowners and managers across Queensland conduct targeted burns of bushland, forests and grassland with the aim to reduce the severity of a fire, ahead of bushfire season. Hazard reduction burning is just one component of land and vegetation management, along with fire line construction, slashing and grazing, and community education. Hazard reduction burns won’t completely stop a bushfire from going through an area, but the fire may move through at a lower intensity, allowing our firefighters to control it. Although we don’t own land to conduct hazard reduction burns on ourselves, the Rural Fire Service helps landowners to conduct burns safely and effectively by issuing Permit to Light Fire notices. Rural Fire Brigades also provide practical help by attending some hazard reduction burns. : File image: Hazard reduction burn at Woodgate, April 2020.
