Today we have some extra-special produce today including our local and unique chem-free produce varieties You can look forward to: chem-free rhubarb chem-free artichokes - (these are quite impressive in size !) and chem-free PRICKLY PEARS! They taste a bit like a pear crossed with a guava and are super nutritious! A little warning: Prickly pears are actually an edible cactus fruit! You need to be so CAREFUL with them and don't touch them with your bare hands! They have almost invisible hairs they can get stuck on your hands and irritate your skin. 04.01.2022 Here's some yummy looking lunch inspiration from our local tofu wizards Soyoyoy Foods! ‘Eggy’ tofu cube salad with 'any greens' sunflower seed pesto, hummus (try our Eumarrah freshly made hummus available in bulk from our deli) and home grown mung bean sprouts or local Huski Greens micro greens. The pesto can be made by blending toasted sunflower seeds and literally any greens with a little olive oil, garlic and 1/2 tsp white miso or nutritional yeast for a 'cheesy' touch.... ‘Eggy’ tofu cubes 250g tofu (medium or firm) - try locally made organic Soyoyoy Tofu (available in bulk from our deli - buy as much as you need!) 2 tbsp all purpose flour (or, gluten free or rice flour) tsp sea salt tsp turmeric powder Black pepper to taste A few tablespoons oil to fry, odourless coconut oil works well Cube the tofu in 2-3cm cubes (no need to press it), mix the flour, salt, turmeric, and pepper in a bowl and toss/gently press the cubes to make the moisture from the tofu bind enough flour to make a thin 'batter' around each cube. Fry on low heat, turning the cubes so all sides get browned. Add more oil if it looks dry. Drain on a piece of paper or kitchen paper towel. To assemble the salad: Spread a layer of hummus, top it with a generous layer of pesto, add salad leaves of choice, mung bean sprouts/micro greens and finally the tofu cubes and any other salad veggies you have. 01.01.2022 WE'RE HIRING AT OUR DERWENT PARK WAREHOUSE We're on the hunt for a friendly and reliable Storeperson to join the Eumarrah team at our Derwent Park Warehouse! The role is a busy and responsible position that includes receiving, picking, dispatching and some deliveries. You must be physically fit and safety aware (knowledge on how to safely lift up to 25kg).... We're looking for a strong team player who can think and prioritise on the go, share tasks, be efficient, accurate and organised. You will need to be observant to ensure high product quality, care with date control, and to correctly identify similar-looking products. Good communication skills are required to work with wholesale customers and our two store locations, ensuring that all our customers get the products they need. Our ideal candidate has a passion and knowledge of wholefoods and environmental awareness. The role is 3-5 days and 25-38 hours per week, casual for the first 12 months.
