20.01.2022 This time 50 years ago the first man stepped onto the moon. Did you know both Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong were Scouts! Did you also know at the time of the l...anding Neil was an active leader and spoke to the youth at the Utah Jamboree and apologised he couldn't be there but the president had other ideas for him. We are sure that Neil was mis quoted and actually said "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for Scouts everywhere!" See more

14.01.2022 Have your say! Anglesea Heath is one of the richest and most biodiverse areas in the state. It accounts for one quarter of Victorias plant species, and provide...s habitat for 29 recorded mammal species and more than 100 native bird species. Were seeking community views on how the area can be used for recreation and community enjoyment. Complete an online survey or attend one of two open house sessions: http://go.vic.gov.au/rqZFZp

14.01.2022 PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT We’re calling for beach users to exercise caution after a recent cliff collapse near Demons Bluff, Anglesea. Due to the dynamic nat...ure of the coastline, we ask visitors to avoid walking beneath cliffs. Visitors can also assist by staying on designated tracks, not damaging native vegetation and keeping clear of cliffs, especially at higher tides. Coastal erosion and cliff falls are natural processes, which are more likely to occur when the weather changes. The extent and severity of cliff failure can increase over the summer period due to the drying effects of hot weather, resulting in increased cracking and fracturing of cliff faces. The fallen rocks will remain at the base of the cliff to help stabilise the area and protect other undercut sections. We remind beachgoers not to climb on these fallen rocks or go near undercut cliff areas for their own safety. Many cliff areas, particularly in the area between Jan Juc and Point Roadknight, and at Aireys Inlet, are susceptible to instability. The Great Ocean Road Coast Committee will continue to provide hazard warning signs, fencing and revegetation programs to help reduce the risk to the public in these areas. Ongoing cliff monitoring and geotechnical investigations are being undertaken to assess future cliff risks. #loveourcoast
