25.01.2022 GAME DAY Game day is an exciting time! There are some great things you can do to help prevent injury, boost your energy levels and even to help improve your focus and concentration to make those quick effective calls! Some people opt to take pre-workouts before a game which can leave them dehydrates and can result in an energy crash before the final goal is shot! We have some tips to help give you sustained energy and laser focus. 1. HYDRATE: Ensuring that you ar...e staying hydrated before a game will mean that your body is able to access all those water-soluble vitamins and mineral that it needs during the game. It is even a good idea to have an electrolyte replacement drink before the game. The brand that we recommend to our patients are the @roarorganic 2. BRAIN FUEL. Taking a supplement to help improve brain function is a great way to make sure you are switched on for the game. The trick is using a supplement that doesn’t dehydrate or over-stimulate your body. We recommend the Brain Doctor from @macr0mike 3. STRAPPING: Using kinesiology tape to strap any areas that are of concern at the beginning of the game are a great way to prevent injury. Kinesiology tape, on the other hand, is thin and stretchy, with properties almost identical to human skin. Because it is so porous, it releases moisture easily, allowing it to dry quickly after sweating, swimming, or showering. This type of tape is almost never wrapped completely around any part of the body. Instead, it is applied directly over and around the borders of an injured muscle group or joint. The elasticity actually enhances both blood flow and removal of lymphatic fluid, which allows kinesiology tape to provide true therapeutic benefits. We love using @rocktapeaustralia in the clinic. 24.01.2022 TEA FOR SLEEP A relaxation tea is a great option to have before bed. There are many herbs out there that have therapeutic actions valuable for sleep. My favourite tea to use before bed is the REST TEA from @herbalteatonics. This contains some lovely herbs to support and restore that overworked nervous system. Oat Straw : It is known as a highly beneficial nervine, nutritive, and sedative. It is prized amongst herbalists for its gentle and supportive nature. Oatstraw is ...a favorite for supporting the nervous system. This plant is highly valued for its ability to restore balance and a sense of calm in weak and/or stressed out individuals. Lemon Balm: Is known by herbalists as a digestive stimulant, an antidepressant, antihistamine and nerve tonic. Chamomile: It is used to help relax the body and aid with sleep. Skullcap: Traditionaly has been used as a nervine and many herbalists have used it as a sleep aid. Rose Buds : This herb is known by some herbalists as a soothing and relaxing herb with high concentration of vitamin C.

23.01.2022 Gotu Kola Gotu kola is an herb in the parsley family. The above-ground parts are commonly used in Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic medicine. It grows in some areas of the Himalayas where it is used by yogis to improve meditation. It is said to develop the crown chakra which is the energy centre at the top of the head and to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain, which the leaf is said to resemble. Gotu kola contains essential oils, tannins, and saponins (also called triterpenoids) known as asiaticoside, madecassoside, and madasiatic acid.

22.01.2022 USES Gotu Kola leaf & root have long been used to support the health of skin, hair, and nails. Numerous clinical trials have shown that Gotu Kola indeed has beneficial dermatologic effects by helping to help support the connective tissue that line many of the external surfaces of the body including the scalp and skin. These supportive actions include supporting normal integrity of skin tissue and connective tissue maintenance, healthy formation of connective tissue structural components, and healthy keratization of the skin. Because Gotu kola supports healthy connective tissue, it also supports blood vessel strength and integrity as well as normal circulation of blood.

22.01.2022 F A B (Facial Acupuncture Benefits) Facial acupuncture works via activating a micro-wound healing response. This healing response includes increasing the oxygen levels via improving the microcirculation ation. As a result, detoxification is increased in these areas, reducing facial puffiness and discolouration. Improving the microcirculation also addresses multiple factors of ageing from smoothing lines, to enhancing the firmness and volume of skin. Unlike Botox, cosmetic acupuncture can influence the health of the skin, working on more than the superficial signs of premature ageing. Micro-wounds encourage the body to increase its collagen and elastin production, resulting in a more youthful, hydrated appearance .

21.01.2022 Naturopath & Chinese medicine practitioner Synta Saunders from Euneek You Health who is also part of our team has some great tips for a better wellbeing and W...OMEN’S HEALTH As women, we often put others before ourselves. Be that our children, our parents, partners, friends and even the random lady at the grocery shop. Every time that we say yes to others, we are saying no to our own needs. This can eventually lead us down a path of being worn out! Being worn out over a period of time can even begin to negatively impact on your nervous system, your digestive system, and even your hormones! So we need to make sure that we do little things to help support our mental, physical and emotional health. Below are some easy ways to do this. 1# IMPROVE YOUR SLEEP Sleep is kick-ass way to support all the areas of well-being! When we sleep, our body has a chance to essentially do maintenance and repair on any areas that need it. It also helps us process and digest new information that we may have learnt during the day. So getting good quality sleep is essential to help us think clearer, recover faster and essentially set us up to be the superwomen we are meant to be. Euneek Tip- Try having some nervous system support tea, such as Tulsi tea before bed. Couple this with a regular bedtime routine to let your body know it is time to start unwinding. Lastly, listen to a yoga Nidra for sleep to assist in properly relaxing all your muscles and your mind. 2# FOOD FOR FUEL We hear it time and time again, but make sure to eat your veggies! Vegetables are packed full of nutrients that are essential to making all of the processes happen the way they should. So think of your vegies as your multivitamin, and have some daily. A good amount of veggies to aim for is 5 serves per day. It might seem like a lot, but 5 serves will help saturate your system with the nutrients needed to create neurotransmitters, hormones and can even help with weight loss. Euneek Tip- When having meals that don’t normally have veggies in them, eg Mac & Cheese, cut up some mixed green leafy veggies very small and mix it through. Alternatively, try making new sauces, such as a cauliflower cheese sauce, that has veggies hidden in it. 3# HERB IT UP Both Eastern and Western herbs can be used to assist the body in it’s wellness journey. There are specific herbs out there that are helpful to modulate your hormones, boost energy levels, help with anxiety, improve sleep and even help with weight loss. So why struggle it alone, when these little add-ons can be just what you need to get you feeling as wonderful as you should. Euneek Tip- Our naturopath can help design a herbal mix that is especially formulated for you and your situation. This helps prevent the scattershot approach you would encounter from over the counter supplements as it assists in streamlining a treatment plan for you. 21.01.2022 Oils Many practitioners use different oils when it comes to assisting in facial rejuvination. Synta's favourite oil to use is the Nourish and Revive oil from @saltbyhendrixau . This oil is a blend of a few fantastic hydrating oils including rosehip oil, Argan oil and Vitamin E. After the cosmetic needles have been removed, Synta applies the oil using an amethyst face roller. This allows the skin to suck in all that good moisture and rehydrate before the patient leaves the room.

21.01.2022 Pins for the win Acupuncture is not only a great option to help support the body to heal itself but treatment is also used to assist in improving athletic performance. This is primarily due to the reduction in recovery time from injuries in players who utilised acupuncture. However, in traditional chinese medicine, there are some points that help to tonify the muscles while soothing the tendons and improving flexibility. At home acupressure on these points before and after a game can be helpful in reducing recovery time and even the movement of muscles and tendons during the game. Using medium pressure, press on each of these locations for about 3 minutes. @ Springfield Lakes

15.01.2022 Needles used for facial acupuncture at Euneek You Health are very fine little things. This is because the skin on the face is very sensitive tive and delicate. These needles are synonymous with gentle, painless, and stress free acupuncture, making it a more pleasant experience for the patient. The fine tip of the needles also allows the practitioner to get right into those fine lines and wrinkles to start minimising their appearance.

09.01.2022 CUPPING FOR THE SHOT Cupping helps to lift the muscles and the facia to allow the blood and lymph to flow through tight and sore areas. Cupping is also a great technique to help loosen and stretch tight muscles. As a result, it is a handy therapy to help tight hamstring to improve your sprints, something those mid-court players may love! As for the shooters, shoulder cupping is a great way to prevent muscle fatigue and improve control for your shots. Mobile whole back cupping, is a great option for defenders as the lengthening and relaxation of those muscles will help in improving your reach to make you a formidable force to get past.

08.01.2022 POST GAME FEELS Taking time after a game to recover properly is important in not only reducing the risk of injury, but also supporting your adrenals to prevent exhaustion. Below are a few handy tips to help you recover and get back to the court in no time! 1. Stretch: taking time to stretch after a game is a good way to help support the lymphatic system and circulation to move any lactic acid that may be building in the muscles. 2. Rehydrate: you may have been drinking l...ots of water during the game, but did you know that you need your electrolytes to make sure that the water actually get into the cells? These handy little minerals also deplete when we have been sweating. Therefore, taking an electrolyte replacement after the game is very important to make sure that the cells can rehydrate faster. My favourite products to use is the @roarorganic 3. Acupuncture: The faster you can get in to see us at Euneek You Health, the better. Acupuncture is a great modality to help restore the body's natural state of balance by accessing your own ability to heal. It is also fantastic to decrease inflammation, increases range of motion, and boosts the immune system. 4. MAGNESIUM BATH: Adding magnesium flakes to your bath are a great way to trans dermally absorb magnesium. Along with the warm water, the magnesium helps to relax muscles and reduce that severity of delayed onset muscle soreness. The @luvinlifeau magnesium flakes are the ones that we suggest in the clinic. 5. MAGNESIUM SUPPLEMENT: Along with a nice warm magnesium bath, taking a good quality magnesium supplement before bed will help your body sleep better and help the muscles unwind more effectively. To find out which magnesium would work best for you, book in for a personalised consult so we can help reduce your recovery time and get you back on the court faster! See more

06.01.2022 Immune recipe According to TCM, congee is a simple porridge that is easily digested and assimilated, it harmonizes digestion and also supplements blood and qi (life energy). Congee can relieve inflammation and nourish the immune system. My favourite recipe to use is from the amazing @teresacutter_healthychef... (P.S. Check out her page for other drool-worthy recipes) INGREDIENTS 180 g (6 oz) organic brown rice 2 litres (64 fl oz) water or vegetable stock 1 spring onion, sliced 1/4 teaspoon cold pressed sesame oil Accompaniments (allow each person to choose) - fresh ginger, sliced - coriander leaves - wheat free - tamari soy sauce - ground or fresh turmeric Place rice into a pot and dry-roast over a low heat until fragrant, but not coloured. Pour over the water or stock and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover and slow-cook the rice, stirring regularly for 1 hour or until rice is soft. The end mix should look creamy. Spoon into generous serving bowls and garnish with shredded ginger, tamari, coriander, sesame oil, and turmeric if using it. I often will add in some bean shoots, chilli, mushrooms and parsley to just add that little bit of an extra immune support

05.01.2022 SKIN AND SLEEP Most of us know that sleep is so important to help with our energy levels, but did you know that getting good sleep is important in the rejuvinating and repairing your skin? During the day skin cells are in defense mode, working to protect themselves from UV exposure and free radical damage. When the sun goes down, your mind and body switch into an active regeneration mode repairing daytime damage and boosting the production of substances that protect and ...renew. Your skin care routine can also be used as a nifty way to improve your sleep. Soak it off A hot bath about two hours before bed can help you to unwind. The drop in body temperature after a long hot soak mimics the temperature drop that happens naturally before sleep. Wash the day off. Using luke warm water and a face wash of your choice, rinse and cleanse the day's dirt and grime off. While you are washing your face, gently give yourself a facial massage. Tension builds up in our face muscles throughout the day, so a facial massage can not only help to lull us into a soporific state, it also increases blood flow to the skin, making it look tighter and brighter. Facial Spritzer After cleansing your face, use a facial toner/spritzer to prepare your skin for some moisturiser. This is a good oppertunity to use a product that has some lavender, chamomile or ylang ylang in it to help improve relaxation and calmness. Moisturise Moisturising Reduces Skin Problems Moisturising everyday can reduce the chance of developing extreme dryness or oiliness. Both extremes are harmful for skin and cause common skin conditions like acne. Moisturising before bed also gives the skin all night to absorb all the good oils. again as with the toner, using a moisturing agent that has essential oils in there to assist in calming and relaxing areperfect choices to help get you ready for bed.

03.01.2022 There are diffrent ways that Gotu Kola can be used. Traditionally it was used in tea or cooking! These days there are ethanolic extracts made to optimise the availability of the active constituents. This form allows Me to combine Gotu Kola with some other herbal extracts to create a blend that is specific to adress each patient's individual needs. This helps to streamline the patient's healing journey.

01.01.2022 SLEEP SMELLS Scenting your skin or bedroom can create a pacifying atmosphere before bedtime, making it easier to drift off. Some essential oils contain constituents that work to help calm the sympathetic nervous system. This allows the parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest system) to engage better, allowing the body to rest and repair. Popular sleep enhancing fragrances include lavender, jasmine, bergamot and ylang ylang. These essential oils can help to slow the heart rate, calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety and improve mood. Try surrounding yourself with these snooze-inducing scents and sink deep into dream time.
