25.01.2022 Hot weather and blustery winds did not deter the crowds from the second Darkan Sheepfest on February 8 at the Darkan Recreation Centre. Over 1500 people came through the gates to see the displays and watch the shearing competition. As well as the shearing competitions, there were working dog displays and a very amusing Young Farmer Challenge. Teams of young people each had to race through a range of tasks, from pipe assembly, to seed identification to having a steady hand in ...the egg and spoon race. Zagro representative, Marcia Devenney, said: It was lovely to see so many families and young people out for the day. Every display had a big crowd and the final open shearing competition was the highlight. I spoke to many people who all mentioned how friendly and fun the day was for them. After a great day talking to farmers and visitors, it was obvious that the sheep industry is front and centre in the activities of the district. It was great to see the stud breeders as well as the services attached to the wool industry talking about their sheep, their plans and how they support each other. From breeding to the final products in fine apparel, there was much to learn and we were happy to be a sponsor on the day, said Marcia.

22.01.2022 A delighted Tristan O'Brien was surprised to see Marcia Devenney personally deliver six drums of Eureka Gold sheep lice treatment today to his property just outside Northam. They start shearing tomorrow and have around 3,500 merino sheep to shear and treat for lice. "I was happy to run this delivery to Tristan today as we knew from Elders Northam that they were ready to start. 17.01.2022 Two days of record visitor numbers coupled with beautiful early spring weather meant the 2019 Dowerin Field Days was one of WA's most successful regional agricultural events. Marcia Devenney, representing WSDA and Zagro Australia, was delighted to be participating and commented: "This year was definitely one of the biggest in terms of visitors and we could all see the rise in numbers. I was lucky to be both with the Elders team in their brilliant pavilion as well as working ...alongside the Dipping Dynamics team on their site. We had lots of interest and many sheep farmers asking for information on how best to manage their flocks. I learnt a lot about the various concerns farmers have and I was glad to help." This is the first opportunity Zagro Australia has had inside the Elders site and it was beneficial on many levels. "I had plenty of time to mingle with clients and Elders staff and we were able to exchange ideas as well as help each other during the day," said Marcia. "The Elders pavilion is a "must stop" for many farmers and I was able to explain about the use of Eureka Gold for lice treatment after shearing." The field days attracted about 25000 visitors and of these approximately 40 per cent are either farmers or actively involved in agriculture. 16.01.2022 After an eight-week rally, the stellar run for Australia's wool market has come to an end. It was the best start to a calendar selling year since 2006, but the AWEX eastern market indicator (EMI) closed 11 cents lower finishing at 2016c per kilogram. In US dollar terms, the EMI experienced a similar US11c fall to US1441c/kg. ... On the opening sale day, prices slid in Melbourne and Sydney selling centres, but clawed their way back to a more positive position by Thursday to see all three centres making gains.
