24.01.2022 Please keep an eye out for Warren!

19.01.2022 Great news from Diabetes Australia this morning!

18.01.2022 WE NOW HAVE P2 MASKS IN STOCK We have a limited number so pop in now to grab one or two, $6.95 each. The masks we have are modeled by pharmacist Lauren in the picture. These are particularly recommended for the elderly and those with respiratory conditions. They are not appropriate for children under 12. ... The following information is from: https://www2.health.vic.gov.au//bushfire-guidelines-use-fa Are all face masks the same? No. Ordinary paper dust masks, surgical masks, handkerchiefs or bandannas do not protect you from fine particles in the air. P2 and N95 masks both help reduce inhalation of these particles Will a P2 mask provide total protection? No. P2 and N95 masks don’t provide complete protection. They do not remove or protect against carbon monoxide. What are the benefits of wearing a P2 mask? Fitted properly, a P2 or N95 mask can filter out some of the fine particles in the air. Make sure the mask is fitted properly and a good seal has been achieved. The mask should be sealed over the bridge of the nose and mouth, and there should be no gaps between the mask and face. Men should be clean shaven to get a good seal. Tag someone who needs to come and buy a mask!

17.01.2022 HOW TO BEST SUPPLEMENT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM RIGHT NOW We have had a lot of questions over the last few days about what supplements best boost your immune system. This is understandable as even just a cold means isolation and a COVID test, and if you’re busy working or running a business in this climate that can be very inconvenient. So, we thought we would let you all know what we will be taking ourselves and giving to our families this cold and flu season. A high quality... Probiotic - There are probiotic species which have been shown to assist in immune function Vitamin C - Is required for optimal functioning of the immune system Zinc - Enhances immune cell function to support the immune defence system Vitamin D - Low levels weakens the immune system and makes us more susceptible to disease When it comes to natural supplements there is a range of products available depending on your price point, age, if you’re pregnant etc so the best thing to do is come in and speak to one of our pharmacists. They will be able to help you choose the products that are right for you. Alternatively, if you call us on (03) 5331 1199 we are happy to do phone consultations. We can even do online payments and free delivery for a 100% contactless transaction. Tag a friend who you think may like to know more about immune support.

13.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION RE: CORONAVIRUS The best way to prevent infection is to avoid contact with people who are infected and to practice every day good hygiene habits, such as: Do not touch your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.... Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Stay home when you are sick. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. The coronavirus (2019-nCoV) is thought to be transmitted mainly via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes, similar to how the flu and other respiratory infections are spread. Spread has generally occurred between close contacts. There is no vaccine as yet for the coronavirus. For more information or if you have any concerns please either phone us, visit our friendly pharmacists or contact the hotline below.

02.01.2022 We are seeing a significant amount of smoke around the Ballarat area with it expected to peak at around 6pm tonight. We are currently graded as 'Critical'. We have plenty of Asmol and Ventolin in stock and are open to 8pm. Please assess your Asthma Action Plans in case they are required. Recommendations for minimising the impact of this smoke include;... -Avoid vigorous outdoor activity. -Spend more time indoors. Keep doors and windows shut to keep the smoke out. Open windows and doors whenever the smoke clears. Do not eat outdoors. -Spend time in air conditioned venues like cinemas, libraries and shopping centres. -Avoid indoor sources of air pollution like cigarettes, candles and incense sticks. -Infants, young children and the elderly should not be outside and these are group are more prone to compromised/Not fully developed respiratory systems. -P2+ graded masks may be used, ensure they fit correctly. Hardware stores are the best place to purchase these currently. Look after yourselves Ballarat!

02.01.2022 How is your breathing going at the moment? One easy thing you can do if you are requiring a Ventolin or Asmol to help your lungs is to ensure you are using a spacer! As seen in the picture below using a spacer significantly increases the amount of medication that makes it to your lungs.... rather than just spraying it on your tongue! ... Pop in and see our staff to help you pick out the right spacer today.
