23.01.2022 After a day of swapping parts from a Ranger to an EC250 heres the outcome... Ranger gearing is 12/48, EC is 13/48 sometimes 49. Instantly made 2nd gear much more usable with a whole lot less clutch slipping. Ranger expansion chamber on the EC: Meh... flattened the power out too much & the mid range/top end suffered. CDI, no noticeable change other than the map switch not working.... The Ranger runs a 36mm PWK keihin carby, the ECs & XCs run a 38mm PWK keihin carby, same jetting (I have changed the needle on the 250) HOLY WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION!!!!! The combination of a 12T front sprocket & 36mm carby turned this bike into a monster. I pulled up with the shakes after hitting some logs, easily lifting the front wheel at low speed/RPM off banks, over tree roots... anywhere. Then I realised I had not tried the hard map... Remember when you could pop the front wheel up on a 2T & easily go through the gears without the front wheel coming down & no sign of flipping? Yep, thats it. All confirmed by three other riders, one only rode it once the carby & gearing was changed & didnt know it was a 250 until it was pointed out to him. See more

12.01.2022 Please keep an eye out for these two guys. At 2.23am this morning they broke into my shop & stole a GasGas E12 kids electric motor bike, then returned at 6:15am & stole a 2019 GasGas EC250. The vehicle used was a grey 2014 ford falcon rego DYJ93X Any help would be greatly appreciate.

11.01.2022 For those who have asked about the map switch on MY19 GasGas models. They make a 10 degree timing change at idle from approximately 2.5 degrees (soft map) to 12.5 degrees (hard map) which varies through the rev range. Unfortunately the switch cannot be retrofitted to MY18 model without harness & ecu replacement.

11.01.2022 Ive have been asked this question a few times now, so here are the Q&As for everyone. Retro fitting a counter balancer to a Beta 2T engine. Can it be done? Yes. How much will it cost? Over $2500- in parts alone.... What!!?? Why??? The 2020 range run different cases to accept the balance shaft, the crank is weighted differently, the main drive sprocket runs two sets of gears to drive the counter balancer plus a dozen more parts & a full gasket kit. Are you sure? Yes How do you know, theres no parts listing for 2020s yet. Yes there is if you know where to look. See more
