02.01.2022 In science last week, year 7 students used spring balances to investigate frictional forces. They chose different surfaces around the college to test, and predicted the size of the force required to pull an object along a particular surface. They then measured the actual force required (in Newtons) to pull the object along the different surfaces. At the conclusion of the experiment, students could draw conclusions about the amount of friction between the two surfaces based on the size of the force needed to move the object on top. The year 7s are concluding this investigation by writing experiment reports.
