25.01.2022 WE FOUND THIS PICTURE IN "MOTOROLOGY". Theres no story to it, just an interesting picture.
25.01.2022 It's the 1920s! Here are some of the things that occurred back then, the clothes and the cars & bikes. And our competition &Trophies for this year.
24.01.2022 CHARLIES CHALLENGE Last year we told you about Motor Cycle enthusiast Charlie Palmer, originally from Euroa but now residing in Sydney, who we hoped may return home to the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa 2019, with a very special bike for us to see. Unfortunately that was not to be, as Charlie was out of the country at the time of our event. However, hopes are high that he and the bike will be able to make it this year....Continue reading

23.01.2022 GREAT TO SEE THAT OUR SPONSORS ARE LOOKING AFTER US when times get tough. Triple M Goulburn Valley has added our media release to their digital platforms for Tr...iple M and HIT FM. Check it out with this link: https://www.triplem.com.au//euroa-show-and-shine-cancelled Thanks guys. Much appreciated!
23.01.2022 NORMALLY, WE WOULD BE JUST ONE MONTH AWAY FROM OUR SHOW. With the cancellation of the 2020 event, heres a collection of some highlights from previous events.
21.01.2022 THIS TIME LAST YEAR Around early September 2019, the committee of the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa was extremely busy with the final arrangements of their show. Printing signs and programs, briefing gatekeepers, finalizing judges, arranging media releases and a myriad of other tasks were all being undertaken over the last weeks leading up to the big event. Fingers crossed for the weather for the first Sunday in October.... Statistics would confirm that the 2019 Euroa Show and Shine was probably the most successful in its nineteen-year history. With initial windy conditions abating, the weather cleared to a brilliant spring day which attracted a crowd of around 10,000 people, including many family groups with children. They wandered around the magnificent setting of the Seven Creeks Park to marvel at over 1,100 cars and 650 motorcycles of all types and ages. Sadly, not for this year though. As with most other events throughout Victoria, and indeed Australia, the COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll, and the 2020 show has been cancelled. For the first time in several years, Euroas pristine park areas will be devoid of magnificent vehicles and happy people enjoying the picnic atmosphere. The Show and Shine committee is hopeful of running the event once again on Sunday 3rd October 2021, but this will be dependent on COVID conditions and associated Government restrictions at that time. If the event is permitted to proceed, the it will almost certainly be under strict COVID-safe conditions. We will just have to wait and see. Meantime, the committee will continue to pass on relevant information as we progress closer to the date. .. Ray Read Picture: From last years event. L R. 21.01.2022 GOODBYE HOLDEN I have spent most of today wading through the mountain of information and opinion being circulated on the media, internet and social media about the final, sad demise of Holden. That iconic car brand that was just plain Australian. Proudly, unmistakably. If there was ever any doubt about, then GMH put that to rest with their promotional jingle from the 1970s Football, Meat Pies, Kangaroos and Holden Cars.... OOPS! Little did we realize at that stage that this wasnt as Australian as we may have thought. The Holden jingle was adapted from a Chevrolet ad in the US that sang We love baseball, hot dogs, apple pie and Chevrolet. But that did not make Holden (at least for some) any less our national car. All of that aside, it is indeed a sad day for Australia. But we must have seen it coming when they stopped production, and then killed off Commodore. Here at the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa, we will continue to remember the good old days of Holden on October 4th. On that day, I can guarantee that when we read out the award for BEST HOLDEN it will have a very special meaning. Euroa Show and Shines Best Holden award is just one of several that can feature Holden. These include Best HSV, Monaro, Modified, Original, Ute, Race Car, Speedway Car and more. However it will be the BEST HOLDEN that will create the most interest, in the year that the brand was retired by General Motors. And that term seems woefully inadequate, considering Holdens History. Even from personal point of view, it was a couple of Holdens that I raced on speedway (yes, including the old Euroa track in the 1970s) about which I still hold fond memories. The picture shows me with a replica, now owned by Col Saville, of our FJ Holden GV99. Col displayed the car at our speedway stand in area 5 a couple of years ago in 2018. Last year, Patrick OBrien of Wagga Wagga NSW took out the GMCU Best in Show with his magnificent Monaro. The Best Holden was won by Paul Grech with a Torana. We encourage all Holden owners to bring their pride and joys to the Euroa Show and Shine on October 4th, the have a tilt at the trophy for Best Holden. .. 17.01.2022 SHOW AND SHINE CANCELLED The Australian National Show and Shine Inc. have regrettably announced the decision to cancel the Euroa event scheduled for Sunday October 4th 2020 because of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. A spokesman for the Euroa Show and Shine said that the committee was extremely disappointed about cancelling the annual event, but stressed that the health and safety of the community was of paramount concern. This would have been the nineteenth consecutive ...year of the Euroa Show and Shine. The COVID-19 health crisis is unprecedented, and ongoing social distancing measures and social gathering restrictions mean that in the best interests of all concerned, we are unable to plan and deliver our 2020 event. It was important that we decide on the cancellation of the show now rather than later, to give our sponsors, exhibitors, stall-holders and spectators sufficient notice. We also rely of dozens of volunteers, judges and other participants. Over 10,000 people attended last years show, with more than 1,600 vehicles including cars, motor cycles, trucks, tractors and race cars. The Show and Shine committee will now commence long term planning for the 2021 event, to be held on Sunday 3rd October. It is likely that next years event will now follow the format which was set out for 2020, including the theme of the 1920s for the popular Fashions in the Park judging. The committee is confident of retaining many of the major display vehicles which were booked to attend this year, including the Mad Max Interceptor, the Mercedes Benz Club of Victoria exhibition and the 1937 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead of Charlie Palmer. Goulburn Murray Credit Union was already confirmed as major sponsor for the 2020 show and would have presented the GMCU Best in Show and GMCU Best Motorcycle in Show trophies. The Euroa Show and Shine committee would also like to acknowledge other sponsors who had already committed to support the event at the time when the pandemic was announced. These include Triple M Goulburn Valley, Autobarn Shepparton, Automotive Superbalance, Aerodrome Automotive, and Just Cuts Shepparton. .. Ray Read
16.01.2022 HERE'S A NEW INTRO VIDEO FOR THE EUROA SHOW & SHINE.
15.01.2022 SHOW & SHINE UPDATE President Ross Holt, Secretary Bill Ely and Vice President Ray Read were all returned to their 2019 positions for 2020 at the Australian National Show and Shines Annual General Meeting. Mr. Holt will also act as committee Treasurer for the short term pending a permanent appointment, still to be finalised. The Euroa Show and Shine has been holding its monthly committee meetings via Zoom video conferencing facility during the COVID-19 pandemic.... The committee also accepted with regret the resignation of member Sue Thomas from the committee. Ms. Thomas will continue as a valued asset of motor cycle displays on event days and was sent a letter of thanks for her past contributions to the committee. Discussions regarding the future of the Euroa Show and Shine event for 2020 remain in limbo pending further government announcements of the COVID-19 situation over the next few weeks. With the safety of participants, spectators, exhibitors and stallholders foremost on the priority list, the committee will make a decision by the end of June as to whether the 2020 event will go ahead or be cancelled. .. 15.01.2022 MAD MAX INTERCEPTOR Probably the most famous car in any Australian movie, the original Mad Max Interceptor ended up in a USA Motor Museum where it was recently reported for sale at an estimated price exceeding $2m. The Interceptor was based on a 1973 Falcon XB GT coupe and used in three of the Mad Max films as the personal transport, virtual home and weapon of choice for Mel Gibsons Max Rockatansky character. It rivalled the Batmobile, the Back to the Future DeLorean a...nd Steve McQueens Bullitt Mustang when it came to famous film cars. Although hopes are still high that the original may be brought back to Australia, we have the next best thing a great looking replica Pursuit Special vehicle of the Road Warrior now owned by Peter Robinson, who has displayed it at local promotions including the Butcher Club in Shepparton, and the Numurkah Show and Shine. Still true to the original, Peters car also sports the Supercharged 351 V8, a Monza front, with two massive fuel tanks and a spare tyre located where the rear boot used to be. And perhaps covered in dust! Fittingly, its registration is MADMX 2. In the movie, Max rigged the tanks to explode with a booby trap hidden under the car, and had several weapons hidden within (and even outside) the car. Peters car still has at least some of these in place, so caution is advised. By now, you will probably have guessed that we have secured Peters MADMX 2 Interceptor for a special appearance at the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa on October 4th and you would be correct. More news about this exceptional piece of Australian automotive history at our event will be coming over the next couple of months.
13.01.2022 Things are pretty quiet, but thought that you may enjoy this "virtual" show.
12.01.2022 COVID-19 AND THE EUROA SHOW & SHINE At a recent meeting, the Australian National Show and Shine committee discussed to possible impacts of the COVID-19 epidemic on their show, scheduled for October 4th this year. With the event still over six months away, a lot can change between now and then. However, with spectator crowds in excess of 10,000 people, it would certainly be classified as a large gathering.... Euroa Show and Shine President, Ross Holt said, The safety of our participants is always our first priority. The future situation regarding the COVID-19 emergency is unknown and is changing virtually day-to-day." "We continued to be guided by the various government authorities who are taking advice from Australias top medical experts. If circumstances require, then we will not hesitate to cancel the Euroa Show and Shine for 2020. The committee will review the situation each month. In keeping with social distancing procedures, committee discussions will be conducted via Email and telephone conferences in the short term. If it is necessary to cancel the show for any reason, then all businesses who have pre-paid sponsorship money for 2020 will have it refunded in full. Mr. Holt said. Any decision to cancel would be made in a timely manner to give sufficient notice to exhibitors, stall-holders, sponsors and spectators. .. Ray Read Picture: Euroa Show and Shine President Ross Holt.
12.01.2022 A VALIANT EFFORT In keeping with our growing reputation as one of the top Show & Shine events in the country, the Australian National Show and Shine Euroa continues to attract an increasing number of top interstate exhibitors. That was the case when Matt from Oran Park Sydney signaled his intention of bringing his much-awarded CL Valiant Charger to our event on October 4th, 2020.... The CL series Charger was introduced in late October 1976 and was the last Charger model made in Australia, it featured new front bodywork and was expected to be designated as the VL series, but Chrysler decided to rename it CL to reflect the corporate Chrysler name which was now being applied over the whole range of cars sold in Australia. The Charger XL variant was deleted (except for police duties) such that the CL series offered only the Charger 770 for public sale. Matt said, I have owned the car for 7 years. It currently has 230,000 km on the clock. With matching numbers on engine and gearbox, the car has been repainted in the original colour (Stellar Blue) approximately 14 years ago. An impressive list of awards includes 2014 Best Interior, 2016 All Chrysler Day NSW Best Valiant Charger, 2019 Chrysler on the Murray Best CL Charger 2nd Place and 2019 NSW All Chrysler Day First place VJ -CLjust to name a few. For Matts CL8, originality is the key. It was the 14th of a total of 1,823 of this model type and just 1 of 3 with identical options. Manufactured in October 1976, the car has a 4.3 litre (265ci) high performance 6 cylinder, 2 barrel carb engine matched to an automatic transmission. In addition to the engine upgrade, options include an auto console shift, sports stripes, push button radio, E70 HR BSW tyres and alloy wheels. Paint is Stellar Blue metallic with Satin Parchment interior trim. We look forward to seeing the Stellar Charger at Euroa on October 4th, as Matt tries to add another trophy to his collection. .. 12.01.2022 UPDATE OF CHARLIES CHALLENGE Recently we told you about Charlies Palmers excursion to New Zealand to contest the Burt Munro Challenge. Charlie is now back in Oz and heres his report on the races: I have had a great time at Burt Munro Challenge in New Zealand. It has been hard work but it payed off.... After we went all that way, we almost didnt get there as they have had floods there too. The weather was great if it wasnt raining and the wind stopped. It was high of 16 deg. and when the wind blew, it was a chill factor of about minus 5 deg. for 4 days of different racing. Thursday - Hill Climb on rough bitumen road to a look out at Bluff then drag racing at night where I did 100 mph over the 1/4 mile. Changed tyres then entered the Friday Beach racing. They are not allowed to grade the beach. This was rough over 2 races which I won the first, but threw a chain when way out in front on the second race. As they say: BUGGER. Changed tyres again and off to Saturdays Teretonga Sprint races. I had to ride the hardest I have ever ridden as it would be great to have a Burt trophy. Sunday was Invercargill Street races. Same again rode the wheels off the bike, revved every bit of carbon out the exhaust, broke an oil line but the old girl held together. So at the award night this is what I came away with. I could not do it without Barb and Suzanne, my two spanner men Craig and Macca and the Cheer squad that came across. Thanks to all of you guys for making one of my dreams come true. 11.01.2022 WE CALLED IN TO THE SHEPPARTON MOTOR MUSEUM this morning and got a couple of pictures of some of the sorts of 1920s cars that we can expect at Euroa Show and Shine on October 4th. As usual, the Museum, now re-branded as "MOVE" (Museum of Vehicle Evolution) has a brilliant display of Vintage cars, including this 1924 3-litre Bentley and T-Model Ford. We also received some kind words from a visitor there, concerning the Euroa Show and Shine. "We dont know what you are doing, but please keep doing it. Your event is fantastic and we come every year." Thanks, folks.
10.01.2022 NO AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL SHOW AND SHINE AT EUROA THIS YEAR. Here are some of the highlights from our 2019 event. Over 1,100 cars, 650+ bikes and more than 10,000 spectators.
09.01.2022 ONE YEAR AGO, JUST PRIOR TO THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL SHOW AND SHINE - EUROA. Picture and story from Shepparton Adviser.
08.01.2022 HI EVERYONE. With the easing of Victoria’s COVID-19 restrictions imminent, we are hopeful of being able to hold a committee meeting of the Australian national Show and Shine sometimes over the next few weeks, leading up to Christmas. Although any definite plans for our 2021 event, proposed for Sunday October 3rd will not be possible until some months later, we see the current situation as a very positive sign for the future. ... In the meantime, your Show and Shine committee hopes that all of our exhibitors, supporters, stall-holders, sponsors and spectators have been safe over the lock-down period. We look forward to being able to bring you some further good news in the future.
07.01.2022 We have re-hashed a video clip featuring some of the PEOPLE from last year's Australian National Show and Shine Euroa. Enjoy! We look forward to seeing you all again on October 3rd, 2021.

06.01.2022 WE ARE SAD AND DISAPPOINTED that the 19th Australian National Show and Shine at Euroa scheduled for this Sunday 4th October has been cancelled because of the COVID-19 Pandemic. Weather forecast for Euroa township on Sunday is for about 27 degrees, wind 21kph from the NE, with a late shower. We will post a video featuring highlights from last year's show on Sunday.
04.01.2022 WITH THE CANCELLATION OF OUR SHOW FOR 2020 we are frustrated that we now have nothing to do, when we are usually very busy preparing for the show. Heres a video clip about where we were around this time, last year .
03.01.2022 Hi Folks. As you will be aware by now, we have sadly needed to cancel our 2020 Euroa Show and Shine event scheduled for Sunday October 4th as a result of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It is the intention of your Show and Shine Committee to run the 2021 show on Sunday 3rd October, conditions permitting, and as far as possible to replicate much of the planned program for this year at that time. This will hopefully include a theme of the 1920s and the presentation of many of ou...r attractions such as the Mad Max Interceptor GT Falcon, the Mercedes Benz club of Victoria, and some unique motor cycles such as the 1937 Harvey-Davidson Knucklehead of Charlie Palmer. In the meantime, please keep an eye on our Facebook page. We want to keep you up to date on what we are up to in our planning (now long term) for the 2021 event. Our next committee meeting will be in August and following that we will have some news for you about how we are progressing. We will be working closely with the Strathbogie Shire Council, especially with regard to the requirements for COVID-19 safety, which is almost certain to still be with us at that time, although hopefully in a more manageable form. Having announced the cancellation of the 2020 event, we will leave that information as an EVENT on this page until around late July, to ensure a maximum exposure to our followers. After that, it will be replaced by another event for 2021, with the date and a few other details. Our picture is of the pristine Seven Creeks Park, Euroa, which for the first time in many years will be without the exciting displays of exciting cars, trucks, tractors and bikes, both old and new, from classic to modified. And without the sounds of multiple bands, food, drink and trade stalls, kids entertainment and a throng of families of all sorts enjoying the unique picnic atmosphere! We will keep you informed of our progress. Meantime, stay safe! Picture by Ray Read
02.01.2022 2020 THEME ANNOUNCED A recent meeting of the Australian National Show and Shine committee has agreed that the theme for this years event to be held on October 4th will be a celebration of the way that things were just 100 years ago. Our theme will be the 1920s. Once again we will be running a competition for the best 1920s period costumes for both men and women, and hopefully also for kids. Our competition sponsors will once again be Just Cuts of Shepparton and Miss Goody Ne...w Shoes from Kyabram. We encourage as many folks as possible to dress up for the occasion, those who are interested in this fun event can register their names at the Information Tent near Centre Stage, with the Fashions in the Park parade and judging taking place prior to the announcement of the 70+ Trophies for the event. On that subject, a small change in the titles of a couple of our Trophies will see categories of Best 1920s Car and Best 1920s Bike. These will replace previous Vintage class trophies. Very appropriate, as the Vintage category actually ran from WWI to the year 1930. Look for a display of a couple of the best 1920s vehicles on either side of Centre Stage this year. Over the next few weeks, our committee will be out and about finalizing sponsors for the show. Our aim has always been to provide better value for money for our sponsors, than if they invested in other forms of publicity. With over 10,000 people attending last years Euro Show and Shine, there was plenty of exposure for all of our sponsors. Fans may have noted that the header of our Event page on Facebook promoted YOUR 2020 VISION as people looked forward to this years event. With the obvious link to optics, we are pleased to welcome on board Specsavers, so that our vision now reads YOUR SPECSAVERS 2020 VISION. More about that later. If you would like to know a bit more about just what happened in the 1920s, what people were wearing and just which vehicles, both cars and bikes were around, check out our new video clip. .. 02.01.2022 HI FOLKS. With our 2020 non-event now behind us, thanks to the Coronavirus, we now hopefully look forward to the first Sunday in October 2021. As you will appreciate, next year will almost certainly be different. We will keep you informed of progress, which will be dependent on the conditions necessary surrounding the COVID-19 situation at that time.... At this stage, our Australian National Show and Shine committee has been unable to conduct a full meeting, but as soon as conditions allow, we will meet and discuss our future plans. A return to normal will almost certainly be the new definition of COVID-safe normal, which will be defined by the Victorian Government’s health professionals. In this regard, social distancing, cleaning and other necessary precautions, yet to be defined, will almost certainly be in place. It may also mean restrictions on such things as crowd numbers. At this stage, we just don’t know. The Euroa Show and Shine committee would like to thank our followers for their continued support through these difficult times. By early 2021, we may have some further indications of just what format our show may take. Meantime, please mark Sunday October 3rd 2021 on your MUST DO calendar!
02.01.2022 JUST PICKED UP A FEW THOUSAND OF THESE FROM MAXAM PRINTING This is an image of both sides of a DL (business envelope) size flyer that we will be distributing to other car shows and events between now and our own event on October 4th 2020. Sponsors shown here are generally an acknowledgement of our supporters for the 2019 show. 2020 sponsors are still being finalised and we will announce these around the end of March. Shortly after that, we will begin distribution of big A3 posters and A5 size flyers.
01.01.2022 The Mercedes-Benz Club of Victoria is coming to the Euroa Show and Shine 2020. We are expecting around twenty cars. Heres better copy of the flyer that they have designed for their members.
