21.01.2022 Meet our wonderful Strength & Social (S&S) members who were all smiles after another awesome workout! S&S is a 30 minute class which primarily utilises resistan...ce training exercises to focus on bone and muscle strength. This class is targeted at those in their 50s and 60s who want to get the most out of their bodies! Classes are performed in a friendly, relaxed environment and are run Monday-Friday @ 12 midday. 19.01.2022 We are now offering strength and conditioning in addition to our normal return to sport rehab services at Eurobodalla Health and Fitness. If you are looking to ...improve your strength, speed, fitness or just keen return to the playing field after some time off, then we can help you get started! Individualised programs are available for people of all ages from kids through to adults. We have been helping clients from a wide range sports including AFL, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Cycling, Netball and Athletics. Our key man in strength and conditioning is Chris Anastasiou who is currently furthering his education by completing his Masters of Strength and Conditioning through Edith Cowan University. For appointments booked with Chris before October we are including a free AXIT Strength and Power assessment and report valued at $150 as part of your initial consultation If you have any questions or would like to know more please don't hesitate to reach out.

15.01.2022 Watching the way Strength and Social class has progressed and changed both physically and as a network over the last 3 years has been absolutely mind blowing. ...Having them stick it out with us last year when we went online was a new and fun challenge, however we have loved having them back in person! From lifting weights, to balance and coordination its always always done with a smile . They are incredibly warm and welcoming to new members and I'm proud of the community this creates. Thanks especially to Lenore who has been with us right from the start we couldn't have created such an amazing community without your support. We appreciate the way this group gives back to our team and makes EHF such a fun place to be!



14.01.2022 One of the things we commonly see in the clinic is people who don't select the weight correctly for an exercise. We often see clients who undersell themselves ...and pick a weight thats lighter than they can handle but they make the exercise challenging by completing a large amount of repetitions, often 20-30. What we know from the research is that to improve muscle strength as we age we need to select a weight that is challenging over a lower number of repetitions, somewhere bewtween 6-15 is usually recommended. This may mean selecting a heavier weight and challenging yourself! however the benefits from this are fantastic particularly for bone and muscle strength! 03.01.2022 One of the most important things we work with our clients to do is to keep strong and active as they get older. It is often assumed that walking or staying aero...bically fit is the best thing someone can do. Whilst this may be true, there is a strong argument for resistance training being equally effective in maintaining health. Resistance training in my view is the best way to make sure that as we age we can continue to do the activities we enjoy. Seeing people in their 70's 80's and 90's improve their strength and improve their movement is one of the most satisfying parts of what we do at Eurobodalla Health and Fitness
