25.01.2022 January 2021 will see ANSA NSW re-boot the 12 month comp with some incentives. The 2 fish of the month species are Kingfish and Bass, so any entry in any divisi...on of the 12 Month Comp for these 2 species will see the anglers go into a random prize draw. ( I know I said Length Only, but what the heck, all divisions for these 2 species will be accepted). Same goes for any junior angler entry and one randon draw for any entrant in January 2021. So we have 5 great prizes to give away at the end of January so start fishing on the 1st of Jan 2021. Good luck! See more

12.01.2022 Media Release Sunday 6th December 2020 ================== Recreational fishers call for proper research and data to manage Batemans Marine Park ================...== The Recreational Fishing Alliance of NSW has campaigned for improved recreational fishing access in Batemans Marine Park since 2006 when the then Labor Government announced it would shut down recreational fishing in the Park, without any solid data to support or benchmark that decision. In December 2019 changes were announced by the Member for Bega, Andrew Constance with the assistance of Minister for Agriculture and Western New South Wales Adam Marshall, and in concurrence with Minister for Energy and Environment Matt Kean. The changes increased recreational fishing access at five sites in the Batemans Marine Park. A full review is currently underway, with any changes subject to public consultation. NSW government departments have had 15 years to research baseline data about the status of recreational fish species in the Batemans Marine Park. They have failed. The various departments’ consultation, engagement and decision-making processes have been poorly communicated, politically tainted, ineffective, lacking in transparency and biased towards extreme green interests. The government has not produced data to show if lockouts have worked in the Batemans Marine Park. They have failed to develop any reliable test which could show ‘has the marine environment and fishing changed from what it was before the fishing lockouts in Batemans Bay?’ Recreational anglers have greater knowledge than most in the community about what is going on in the marine environment. Like everyone else in our community, we want to enjoy a pleasant environment that is not degraded in any way. We want it to be sustainable for ourselves and for future generations, and more importantly we want to see more fish. Our coastal towns depend on a healthy, sustainable marine environment. Countless businesses depend on the money that recreational and commercial fishing bring to our district. There are 850,000 recreational anglers in NSW, contributing billions of dollars to our local economies. The gathering of data in marine parks should be a collaborative, unbiased and transparent process, with stakeholders aware of the source, methodology, purpose and quality of the data. There must be continued engagement and communication of developments and outcomes. But nothing will ever be achieved with the same old, useless lines arbitrarily drawn on a map. 11.01.2022 Andrew Constance confirms that the CBD floating pontoons that the Association has for so long been advocating for will be installed as part of the Batemans Bay ...Bridge Project. Minister Constance in a Press release this morning Monday 23 Nov 2020 confirmed that the additional work associated with the bridge will be completed in 2023. With reference to the bridge schedule he said: Work is also continuing on the new southern and northern foreshores which will include a public artwork, a mural, a children’s playground and a new floating pontoon on the southern side. The project is expected to be complete in 2023. Mr Watson Smith from the Associations welcomes this announcement that the cost of this development will come from the Bridge project and not from the boater's licence fees in the Boating Now Fund. The floating pontoons will be an asset to the Bay which all locals and visitors may enjoy. It will facilitate both sailing and other vessels docking right along side the hopefully upgraded and activated foreshore. This brings an added attraction to our waterfront which remain isolated from road access. There are a few more pieces to this picture to be announced namely; The upgrade of the dilapidated concrete T-wharf to a fully featured fishing platform with lights, seats, water and fish cleaning tables and recycle bins. This will make it fisho and visitor friendly. Secondly the upgrade of the southern side boat ramp with pontoons and boater friendly facilities to make it more accessible to the elderly and less mobile who just want to enjoy a day on the beautiful Clyde waterway. Thirdly the northern Punt Road boat ramp will require extensive remodelling now the new bridge dominates the area with boat trailer friendly roads , wash down areas and suitable parking facilities for the expected surge in demand as a result of the increased visitor arrive. The Batemans Bay Boaters Associations welcomes the local Minister renewed interest in the marine infrastructure now that he is in charge of Maritime and the Infrastructure delivery office.

10.01.2022 It appears our friends over at Save Batemans Sanctuaries and Save Batemans Sanctuaries Community decided to shift their messaging this morning and get personal. Don't worry you won't find the post as they have removed the post, but here it is in all it's delightfully cringe worthy glory. Great to see your tax dollars at work with two of their members employed by the NPA and AMCS through NSW environmental trust projects so they have the capacity to campaign high quality messages like this.
