25.01.2022 The Palais Theatre is another St Kilda icon, this beautiful building was opened in 1927, as a cinema. Prior to the current building, the Palais was a dance hall built in 1913, it then became Palais Pictures in 1915 and was in the process of being rebuilt in 1926 when a fire destroyed it. The Phillips brothers then sought out a new architect, Henry Eli White to design an even grander theatre. The result was this stunning building that can seat almost 3,000 people.... Now used as a live concert venue, the stage of the Palais has been graced by musicians, comedians and dancers from across the globe.

16.01.2022 St Kilda Sea Baths have had a long a colourful history, undergoing many changes over the past 170 years. Originally designed to allow bathers to soak in safety, away from marine life. The Sea Baths became increasingly popular from the 1850s when sea bathing first became acceptable. Initially wooden structures were erected with a space for women and a separate space for men as men of the day often bathed in the nude. The Sea Baths had a gradual decline as bathing in the open ...water increased in popularity from the 1920’s onwards. Delighting young and old, this iconic amusement park has undergone many changes over the years, from live performances to new rides and refurbishments, each generation has grown up with a slightly different Luna Park than the next.
