11.01.2022 FACTS ABOUT SNS Lets talk about SNS. I get 100s of DMs if I do SNS and quick answer is "NO, and NEVER WILL" here is why ... So essentially SNS is acrylic powder (it is in fact a BRAND, not a product. It's a cheeky way of selling the same product for more, claiming that it is better for your nails (it has .0039% vitamin E and your nails are made from KERATIN not calcium, so the calcium ingredient is useless) and using less product which saves NSS salons money. SNS also uses straight up superglue (they call it sealant but it's chemical ingredients are basically the same as superglue) to bond the powder. "But SNS is lighter and stronger on my nails you say"... Well YES... When you're using half the product and bonding it with superglue, of course they will be "lighter and stronger" FYI super strong nail enhancements aren't a good thing. Answer me this if you hit your nail on something really hard, would you prefer your nail enhancement to break, or to stay in tact but instead your natual nail gets a chunk ripped out? Or even worse, seperate the natural nail from your nail bed?!! Let's chat about the hygiene of SNS - actually the lack of hygiene the unsanitary issue of having every single client dip their dirty fingers in the same pot! It's a perfect breeding ground for bacteria and fungus Like most qualified hygienic nail technicians I do not an will never offer SNS Your nail health is my number one priority. We all need to take a break from using our devices, especially in today’s world, where the social media frenzy has got out of control ... As for me, going on a social media break would mean spending more quality time with family, connecting with my loved ones, experiencing real emotions, events and adventures How great would it be to stay off your phone for a day or two and go on a trip for a change of scenery? Or you could dig out that dress you bought for a friend’s wedding and do a photo shoot? Enjoy life, take a minute to smell the roses, appreciate the nature around you, reconnect with the real world and relax Promise me your will put your phone away and out of reach and enjoy the moment for at least one day! 05.01.2022 If I could go back in time, say to 5 years ago, when I was just about to kick off my career as a nail technician, what advice would I give to myself? Try different techniques and designs even the most daring onesand be brave enough to offer them to my clients. Invest in professional development and do not work for peanuts . The more money you spend on self-education, the faster you improve, get more skilled and experienced, and the sooner you can charge more ...for what you do Network Get in touch with the most talented and successful people and learn from them Rest more to recharge your emotional, spiritual and physical energies to stay motivated. Do not waste money on cheap products and equipment; only buy quality. Trust me, it’s worth it Learn to say no to people who suck your energy . It will take you ages to recover after their visits and you will still feel emotionally drained . Luckily for me I didn’t have many of these experiences Look after your back! Join a gym , enrol in yoga classes , exercise in the morning . Your back will thank you later. That’s all I can think of. What else would you add to this list? You can write it in the comments.

If you are passionate about your business but think: That’s it, I can’t do it any more don’t worry, that’s fatigue Just take time off, go camping, turn off your phone and forget about your work. Let it go Enjoy peace and quiet ... Return to work refreshed with energy and new ideas Professional burnout is more complicated It is related to what you do and how you do it If you became a nail technician because it was a quick buck but you’re not passionate about nail beds, cuticles and all of that, you may burn out Another reason for burnoutespecially in service industriesis clients may see you as their personal counsellor. If you have 50 clients a month, they each have their life stories, joys and problems to share. If you shoulder their cares as if they were your own, you may exhaust your emotional resources. Don’t be a perfectionist. Have you had thoughts like: I’m unhappy with my work, She is better than me, It looks horrible, I’m a failure? Be kind to yourself instead The design didn’t work out as planned? Who cares! Be proud for trying. You are unique, so is your work. You can’t be good at everything but your clients love you for certain things where you excel. Try not to compare yourself with others and instead draw motivation from your own professional progress. You may also burn out if you are not satisfied with your earnings. If you have six clients a day and charge below average, you are just undervaluing your work and it will bring you neither satisfaction nor money It is normal to be tired or even exhausted at the end of the week. However, if you experience a deep, emotional vacuum that can’t be filled over the weekend, stop and ask yourself what am I doing wrong? Analysing your actions will help you find the answer. Should you continue working after changing to your routine or course of your life and find your true calling elsewhere See more
