Our state governments and building codes are totally inept (except for Queensland in this instance) Why hasn't Victoria mandated interconnected smoke alarms in all homes as Queensland has. Also mandated the provision of emergency ladders to upper floors of buildings. Why should any of us be reading about the death of an infant and a couple in a house fire.
