24.01.2022 A little something I’ve been working on.
23.01.2022 Hello Artists! Many of us have been in lockdown for a long time now To help us stay connected, let’s meet up online. You’re invited to a VIRTUAL CAFE put on by The Conversation Art Podcast @artistpodcast with Michael Shaw. I’ll also be there to help out and of course have a chat. This is a super casual, conversational zoom cafe where you can chat about being an artist in lockdown, studio visits, art school, books or anything that comes up. There have already been a couple ...of cafe days, but since it’s hard to organise time differences with our Northern Hemisphere pals, this cafe is for us Australians & other Southies. To register your interest and get an email with full details, please go here and comment ‘Virtual Cafe Downunder’: https://theconversationpod.com/contact-form/ See you there, and if you haven’t already listened to the podcast go check it out.
23.01.2022 Bright shiny painting for a bright shiny day.

22.01.2022 Closeup of some juicy oil strokes.
22.01.2022 It was pretty inevitable that Melbourne would go into lockdown again, and I had this up my sleeve just in case. Here’s a digital exhibition of works from 2018. . The beautiful 3D gallery was created by my good friend @emilytara99. Isn’t she amazing?! . #digitalexhibition #digitalart #2021 #melbourneartist
21.01.2022 Paint, resin, board. 2020. 41x31cm.
20.01.2022 This self portrait captures the emotions I’m feeling right now. Mixed media on canvas.
19.01.2022 What should I call this?
19.01.2022 Cancel culture, 2020. Mixed media. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
18.01.2022 Of all the pieces I made for my not show this was the most time consuming and rewarding. Something new for me but it felt completely natural. @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
17.01.2022 The Giant Washing Machine 2013/14, 150x150cm. A lot of my work has been made in the midst of chaos, during life circumstances that left me overwhelmed and defeated. Art has been my solace, saviour and friend. Into it I put emotions for which I had no space or energy to process. I couldn’t explain my work because I had no distance from my emotions. This piece, The Giant Washing Machine, had me drowning in a cycle of emotion from which there was no escape. During this time I surrendered to the rhythm and let life wash over me. I hope 2020 is Washing over you gently. X @ Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
15.01.2022 Mixing precise colours today. Know these colours like Facebook knows my algorithm.
15.01.2022 When you want to do a photo shoot but you have to stay at home.
15.01.2022 I’ve been doing some writing about painting, helping to articulate my thoughts on my recent move to abstraction. Writing is important to my process. Without it my thoughts are like static with many ideas that never land, they just buzz around infusing the work. This intuition is important, but from time to time you have to articulate your intentions.
14.01.2022 Little piece from 2020.
14.01.2022 Alright so I can’t have my show because we’re in lockdown again.... Instead, let’s do another digital exhibition where you can look at what I’ve been doing & you don’t have to leave the house. Here’s a juicy #monoprint
12.01.2022 My not art show is not launching right now in my not gallery online. Enjoy! https://www.evangeline.com.au/2020-the-moment This piece was made with off cuts from the hundreds if not thousands of masks I’ve been making. Selling some, donating most. Hit me up for artwork or just a mask. Art catalog in the link.
09.01.2022 Paint party 3. 41x31cm. Lotsa things on board.
09.01.2022 This little piece looks carefree, but that ain’t the truth. It was first digitally sketched. I prepared a board with many layers of ground and sanding. The paint is laid on between layers of resin & medium so that the end piece is a little sculptural painting. Must see in person.
09.01.2022 Because why not. #ocdnightmare
08.01.2022 Who knows what Melbourne will be like in 3 weeks, but I’m putting the finishing touches on pieces for my solo show at @sandbox_studios_melbourne_aus in August. Here’s a piece that will be in the show.
08.01.2022 Paint can be paint, or it can be cloth, or it can be resin, or netting, or plastic gems. In this case it’s many things. Ain’t she pretty.
08.01.2022 Closeup from a large piece. Feeling like I need to work on another big scale work.
08.01.2022 Instagram Confessionals, 2020. Paint on canvas.
08.01.2022 Playing with a cheap Holga Lens. I’ve seen some things. #artistportrait
06.01.2022 Closeup of a work in progress.
05.01.2022 One of my fav pics from my youth. I was 20 and the world had cracked open.
05.01.2022 Some juicy madness.
01.01.2022 I don’t think I’ve posted this one from 2019. I wasn’t sure about it then, but it’s growing on me. It’s about 3m high on canvas. It’s one of these transition paintings between figuration & abstraction. About this time I started feeling like I was using figuration as an entry point to lay on paint but had no interest in representation so I may as well chuck it out for a while. I’m sure representation will circle back into my work soon enough...
