24.01.2022 Been busy today rebuilding the Leongatha BMX track

23.01.2022 We now have a third straight. Thankfully today I had the assistance of an ex BMX racer who recently moved to the area who helped me today. The track is rideable... but is still a work in progress. Its open for people to ride and enjoy. We will hopefully be applying some track surface in the coming weeks. Regards Nathan Evans

19.01.2022 So today we had another working bee down at Leongatha BMX Track. Due to the hot weather we didnt quite get all the work done we planned to, however we managed ...to get a good covering of topping/ rack surface over the first half of the track with most of it watered and rolled in. The surface we are using is starting to look great, its watering and compacting/ rolling in really well, but some of it still loose/ dry and not finished so if you or your children please keep that in mind, its loose and can give way from underneath you. A big thankyou to Mike from Allens Contracting for donating the surface for todays work, this is the second time Mike has donated his material to this project, and for also allowing us the use of his water cart for todays work. And also a big thankyou to Brenton Williams for donating his skid steer bobcat today, having his bobcat there saved use a lot of hard work, without it we would have been using wheel barrows to spread the surface for track. And Thankyou to Michael from Wonthaggi for helping me throughout the day. Without your help we wouldnt have achieved as much as we did today. Thanks for your help mate. And last but not least, thanks to my wife Alice Evans and our children for your support and delivering some breakfast this morning . Love you all. Keep posted for updates. Regards Nathan Evans

13.01.2022 Hi Everyone So today and Saturday Im back down at Leongatha BMX Track volunteering my time working on completing the second corner/ berm. The track is CLOSED w...hile the work is under way. Hopefully by the end of the day Saturday it will be finished and the first half of the track will be rideable. This wouldnt have been possible without the fill donated by Andrew at Leongatha Garden Supplies and Mike from Allens Contracting who donated the gravel I will be using for the track surface. 13.01.2022 It's now official, the South Gippsland BMX Club was registered today with CAF. A big thankyou to Loz Pitts who has volunteered to become the clubs first secreta...ry. 12.01.2022 Hi Everyone Track update: Over the weekend we had some earthmoving machinery down at the track, the aim was to finish the base of the track and we nearly got th...ere, about 90% of the track is complete. The third straight is almost complete as well as the final berm/corner and last straight. There are still some finishing touches to do before applying some track surface and making it rideable. A big thank you to Dale Carruthers for your help over the weekend and the use of your tipper and excavator, I couldn't have done this without your help, to Southern Cranes for donating the use of your 25 tonne excavator to Brenton Williams for donating the use of his skid steer bobcat again, its really appreciated, to Evans Petroleum for supplying the diesel for the machinery and to Dean Peva Pitts for your help Saturday. None of the work over the weekend could have been done with out your help. With progress we are one step closer to establishing a BMX club in South Gippsland so watch this space for updates. Mike has kindly donated... 3 loads of gravel to the Leongatha BMX track which will be used for the track surface. 06.01.2022 Weve just completed this deck for one of our customers on the Mornington Peninsula, transforming there backyard in time for Christmas entertaining. 03.01.2022 Back at it this evening. Thanks to all the local Earth movers in the area for dropping off some much needed fill over the last two months. And a big Thankyou to... Its slowly starting to come together and hopefully before winter arrives most of the track will be complete.
