23.01.2022 We had to be a bit creative with our end of year performances this time around. Over the past few weeks, each class worked independently on a dance or song routine that they performed in the hall to an audience of one. This performance was captured on film and will be shared directly to class Seesaw journals throughout this week. Here is a medley of some of the moves from the day! ACT Public Schools

23.01.2022 Evatt Primary School had a fantastic day celebrating our multicultural community. This afternoon, the whole school headed to the school oval to spell the word harmony with our students and staff, a symbol of our commitment to inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone.

22.01.2022 Evatt Primary School was lucky to take part in Floriade Reimagined this year. Students created paper tulips that formed the letter "R" of the display proudly standing in the Canberra Centre. One of our teachers who led the initiative, Karen Owens, received thanks from the team as part of world teachers day last Friday. Well done team!

18.01.2022 Our Kindergarteners had a sensational time today at the Canberra Botanic Gardens. The students had the opportunity to explore the life cycle of plants, and how important they are to our environment.

17.01.2022 A focus for our Every Day @ Evatt Framework this year is expanding on our break time opportunities for students. Our new Active Play program provides students with engaging activities every day during break time. Run during our Break 1 and facilitated by our Physical Education teacher, students take part in active games with a focus on inclusivity and building positive social skills and relationships. With on average 20% of students attending every day, our students will agree it's a big success! Watch the video for a quick snapshot of what it's all about. ACT Public Schools

14.01.2022 Some of these faces will become our 2021 School Leaders. Today our Year 5 students had to opportunity to deliver speeches in order to run for one of our four school leader positions. Our Year 3-6 students voted for who they thought would make great candidates to form a shortlist that will be formally interviewed by Mr Hatswell and Mr See. It was amazing seeing our future leaders brave their nerves and deliver speeches of such exceptional quality. Well done!

13.01.2022 Tomorrow’s book week dress up is going to look a little different this year. To align with COVID guidelines and the unfortunate rainy forecast, we won’t be hosting our normal parade. Instead, classes will have access to a photo booth in the library and take part in mini parades. We will then be putting together a whole school digital slideshow that can be shared in classes in the afternoon. Photos can then be shared to individual students Seesaw accounts.

01.01.2022 Evatt Primary School has been hard at work over the past year developing our wellbeing framework, Everyday @ Evatt. As part of this, we have worked with our staff, students and community to develop positive behavioural expectations. Over the holidays, signage will be installed in key areas around the school that highlight the actions that demonstrate how to be safe, respectful, learners within specific settings. This is just one of the many initiatives launching in 2021 in order to build upon our positive school culture.
