25.01.2022 We've had lots of people contacting us asking if the Sankalpa Session will be running again this New Year's Day, and we're so happy to say YES!! The Sankalpa Session is a guided process for unearthing your intention for 2021. It's not about new year's resolutions, and it's not about trying to control how the year pans out for us (2020 certainly taught us all something about that, hey?) Your sankalpa (literally translated from Sanskrit as 'a way of being,... born of the heart') is deep within you, a knowing about what really matters. When you connect with it, it can become an anchor and a guide for you, whatever life may throw your way. This year, there are three ways you can participate: We're offering two live in-person sessions at 10am on New Year's Day. One at our Preston studio with @arianefoster and the other at our Brunswick studio with @_anniecarter. There are limited numbers at these, so book yourself in soon if you're keen. And for the first time, this year we're also offering an online option. You'll receive the pre-recorded video session in your inbox on New Year's Day, and you'll have access to it for two weeks, to complete when it suits you. Love you to join us! Book now via link in our bio. #sankalpasession #sankalpa #newyear #intention #livedeliberately #lifeonpurpose #2021 #newyearsday See more

24.01.2022 If you're curious about our 75hr Women-Centred Yoga Teacher Training (which starts in just over 2 weeks!) come along to our Info and Q+A session this Thursday night via Zoom. It's free and it's a great chance to get more of a feel for the course, get to know Annie Carter (Eve Studio founder, and lead-trainer on this course), ask any questions you may have, and see if it's a good fit for you. We'll be recording the session, so if the time doesn't suit you, please register anyw...ay and we'll send you the recording afterwards. When you register, you can submit any questions you have so we'll be sure to cover them in the session. Love to see you there! Find out more about the course, and register for the info session now at: https://www.evestudio.com.au/75hr-ytt

23.01.2022 We have opened up 5 more class times for Eve Outdoors! Most of the first release of classes filled up in about ten minutes so our team have stepped up to add extra sessions for you. And we're working on even a few more. This pic is from a HIIT & Run class back in May 2014, when Eve had been open just a few weeks. Can you believe in those early days most of our fitness classes had ONE person in them?! Shout-out to Laura, who showed up every morning with her radiant smile... and awesome attitude - such special times. Six years and a global pandemic later, those days are well and truly gone, and so we're doing all we can to fit everybody in. It's so lovely to see how keen everyone is to come back together, and we can't wait to see you all. Thank you so much for your support in booking in, and your patience as we try to find the right level of offerings. Now let's just hope he easing of restrictions goes ahead as planned, so we can actually do this! Click the link in our bio to book your spot now.

23.01.2022 As Sarah from @clothingthegap said to me yesterday, it's about using whatever tools you have in your hand to do what you can. Eve, as a business, is one of the 'tools' in my hand and I'm pleased to be able to use it to further the conversation about 26 January, and the deeper issues it represents. And I love that our team and community are right on board. Feel free to have a read of Stephanie Palmer-Derrien's article, and please check out the Aboriginal-owned small busines...ses she mentions, including Clothing The Gap and Jarin Street, who are powerful voices for the change our country needs. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land. xx Annie

22.01.2022 Masks are back on, Evies! Following the latest announcement, we're back to wearing masks while indoors. So please wear your mask right up until class starts. Then keep it on if you're able to during class, but you can remove it if your class is 'strenuous' and you need a break. Let's keep looking after each other!

19.01.2022 Another week, another round of amazing Eve At Home live stream classes! And this week includes our final Lush Session for 2020 with the wonderful @sarahmackie.yoga We're itching to get back into the studio to film some more on-demand classes (almost as much as we're itching to get back into the studio with YOU for classes IRL) and as soon as Dan the Man gives the word, we'll be right on it. For now, our huge library of classes will keep you moving in whatever way you need. AND we'll be making a backlog of live-stream class recordings available too - hopefully by the end of this week. So if you're already on Eve At Home, enjoy another great week in there! And if you're not yet, click the link in our bio and join now. Your first five days is our gift to you. :)

19.01.2022 Lots to love this week on Eve At Home! Here's the live-stream schedule for you. We haven't been able to film at the studios during Stage 4 lockdown. From 19th October our team will be right back in there filming a bunch of new classes for you. In the meantime, there are heaps of on-demand classes to keep you going, and we've still got a few more that we'll release for you next week. This lockdown may be going way longer than we'd all expected, but we've still got you covered! So jump into Eve At Home (link in bio) and enjoy!

19.01.2022 Bookings are now OPEN for Eve Outdoors! This four week series of outdoor classes starts from 19th October and we expect places will fill up fast (coz we're all so ready to get outside together for some Eve-style goodness!) so book in quick. We'll be at Penders Park in Thornbury and Princes Park in Carlton North, so something near both of our studios, and hopefully within 5km of the majority of our community.... You book for 4 weeks of a class (say 7am Monday Fitness classes with Alissia, for example) and your place is locked in for the whole 4 weeks. If we end up with any leftover spots, we may open them up for casual one-off attendance, but numbers are limited to just 10 per class, so no guarantees that'll happen. To get more info, see all the classes available, and book yourself in, tap the link in our bio. Go on, tap and book! Can't wait to see you in class! #eveoutdoors #evestudio #outdooryoga #outdoorpilates #outdoorfitness #seeyououtside #covidsafe #covidnormal

18.01.2022 When our first studio had been open just a couple of months, back in 2014, I had a call from the producers of The Bachelor. They wanted me to 'send them some fit-looking women' from our community, to be contestants on the show. I didn't. But it's funny, I've watched snippets of the current season, and found myself wondering what it would be like if a bunch of Evies were on it. What do you think would happen???... It's kinda heartbreaking seeing the way the women turn on each other, though obviously that's how the show is designed. I feel like that culture of competition, judgment and scarcity (there's only one guy here so we MUST all be falling in love with him, and one of us - the BEST one - will WIN him) is cultivated. And it's the opposite of Eve's culture that is all about acceptance, non-judgment, and supportive relationships among women. It's interesting that we all have it in us to go either way. To be competitive, judgmental, win-at-all-costs, OR to be supportive, inclusive, open. The environment can make all the difference. One of the things I love seeing happen at Eve is when a woman comes in for the first time with her guard up because life has taught her that's best. You can feel that she's wary of other women, and maybe even herself. And over time (and sometimes instantaneously) the warmth, kindness, acceptance and respect of our community leads her to the point where she let's down the wall and embraces the magic of sisterhood. i've seen it happen over and over. So... I'm not sure I'd want to subject any Evies to being on the show, but I do think it could use a big dose of Eve's vibe! Hmmm, imagine.... ten Evies among the group of women on The Bachelor. What do you think would happen??? #thebachelor #womensupportingwomen

17.01.2022 Happy NAIDOC Week! Both of Eve's studio spaces and the majority of our community live on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nations. We acknowledge that it always was, and always will be Aboriginal land. There are some amazing events and workshops happening this week, and one of the silver linings of the pandemic is that lots of them are being streamed online, so we have access to events all over the country! Click the link... in our bio to head to the NAIDOC website where you'll find lots of events. From www.naidoc.org.au: "NAIDOC 2020 invites all Australians to embrace the true history of this country a history which dates back thousands of generations. It’s about seeing, hearing and learning the First Nations’ 65,000+ year history of this country - which is Australian history. We want all Australians to celebrate that we have the oldest continuing cultures on the planet and to recognise that our sovereignty was never ceded." We'll be joining in the celebration and recognition throughout the week. Dive in with us! #naidocweek #naidoc2020 #alwayswasalwayswillbe See more

15.01.2022 We're feeling all the feels about lockdown easing and reopening the studios soon! I'm sure lots of us have a real mixed bag of thoughts and emotions at this time. A little reminder to go gently with yourself and take time to process it all in your own way. This vid of a spontaneous dance break by our team is from last year, but it definitely conveys a big part of how we're feeling about reopening and seeing you all soon! It'a going to be the BEST to welcome you back (and some... for the first time). Tomorrow we'll be sending out an email and posting here to let you know our reopening plans. So stay tuned, Evies! As a little preview, Eve Outdoors is ON, with all classes starting next week (from 2nd Nov). We've added some extra sessions, because the first round filled up sooo fast! So head on over and book yourself in (link in bio) to be part of our first step back toward being together again in the flesh. Can't wait to see you!

Bookings are open for both of Shukria's classes. Come on in and help welcome her to Eve! #fitnessmelbourne #melbournefitness #womensfitness #fitwomen #hiit #evestudioteam #womensupportingwomen #teamlove

14.01.2022 Lots to love in our live-stream schedule on Eve At Home this week, as always! And there's more being added on-demand too! 11.01.2022 Yayy! We're reopening tomorrow and we can't wait to see you! 10.01.2022 It's your turn!! Did you see this vid our team made a few months back? We wanted to bring some joy and a sense of togetherness during the first round of shutdown. And now, on the home stretch of Stage 4 lockdown, we want to do it again... with YOU! So here's the plan... you sign up for the free class at 6.30pm Fri 25 Sept, where Chafia @curious_mover will teach a fun, easy routine. ... Then you'll have a few days to film yourself on your phone, and send it in. And we'll edit it into an amazing community dance video. Like Eve's very own film clip! You don't have to be a dancer. You don't need to have danced in years or ever. The focus here is fun and we'd love you to be part of it. Even if you can't make it for the dance class next Friday, go ahead and sign up and we'll send you the recording so you can still be involved. Keen?? Jump in now and sign up. Link in bio. And for the full team dance vid, head to our IGTV and scroll back to May.

And the even gooder news is that when you log in to Eve At Home today, you'll see we've added some Bonus Class Recordings for you. And if all that good news still isn't enough for you, we'll be adding even more bonus class recordings for you soon. So, click the link in our bio to log in, or sign up, to Eve At Home and enjoy! 09.01.2022 Huge congratulations to our run challengers who have trained for the last five weeks, building towards TODAY! One group started from Zero and built up to running 5km today! The other group could already run 5km and have trained to get faster at it. Usually at the end of our run challenges we participate in a big run event together. But today, each runner was out there on her own, getting it done. Sooo love these pics of their smiling faces! And so pumped for their awesome ach...ievements! And a massive thanks and mega-high-fives to Kate @forma_mvmt and Louisa @louisa_carter_health for coaching the runners with such heart and dedication. You're both total superstars!! We've got more run challenges starting in a couple of weeks, and will have details out and bookings open in the next few days. Stay tuned!

09.01.2022 At last night's Lush Session, @kathypeterson.yoga set us a weekend project: to write down 108 things we're grateful for. I'll be sitting down to write mine soon. And I thought we could create a group list too. Who knows, maybe we can come up with 108 things between us! I know gratitude is a bit of a wellness buzz-word and it seems like everything is hashtag-grateful. But under all that, it really is a powerful practice to be able to see ...and acknowledge the good stuff in our lives. And probably even more powerful during tough times. So please take a moment, and write in the comments below one thing, big or small, that you're grateful for right now. See more

09.01.2022 Here's your live-stream class schedule for the week... all happening on Eve At Home. And remember, if you miss the live class, you can still view the recording for up to a week afterwards. It's going to be so fun, and we'd love you to be part of it.... You do need to book in for this one, as we have limited numbers. Click the link in our bio right now to book directly, or follow the link in the Live-Stream section of Eve At Home. One way or another, get there now to book your spot before it fills up! See more

08.01.2022 We are thrilled to be expanding our offering of ground-breaking accredited yoga teacher training courses. Our yoga teacher training centres women, our bodies, cycles and experience. Although women make up 78% of yoga practitioners in Australia, modern yoga tends to be taught within a 'male-by-default' patriarchal paradigm. Women's bodies and experiences are largely ignored, or at best, accommodated, but rarely honoured. These courses are helping to turn th...e tide. Our courses cover: * women's rhythms, life cycles and body wisdom * intersectional feminism and the yoga community * cultural appropriation and decolonising yoga * the goddesses of yoga * supporting pregnant and postnatal women in our classes * sensuality and embodiment * pranayama, mantra and meditation for women * holding space * body image and radical self acceptance * the 'herstory' of yoga - where are the women? * what all of the above means for us as yoga teachers Both of our courses are accredited through Yoga Alliance. Our 75 hour course is being offered for the first time online over six weeks, starting on 29 October, and combines pre-recorded video lectures and practices as well as live Zoom sessions. This course is for yoga teachers and dedicated practitioners who are ready to expand their knowledge and practice, and to explore yoga in a way that truly honours all women as they are. Our 200 Hour course is an entry-level course for those seeking to deepen their practice, or to take a first step towards teaching yoga. It incorporates all of the above, as well as more general YTT topics including: asana teaching and technique, anatomy, yoga philosophy, sequencing and theming classes, etc. This course is being offered in person at our beautiful studio in Brunswick, Melbourne. Come join us! https://www.evestudio.com.au/75hr-ytt

01.01.2022 Didn't Maya Angelou just have the best way of saying things? 'Live loves the liver of it.' Love that! This is the heart of our New Year's Day Sankalpa Session - to tap into what it is to really live. For each one of us, this will be a little different, and so there's lots of times and space in the session for you to connect with what it means for you. So that you can start the year in touch with your deep intention. And so you can really live it. ... Spots for our in-person sessions are filling up. There are just two spots left at Brunswick with @_anniecarter, and some more at Preston with @arianefoster Or you can sign up for the online session, and receive access to the pre-recorded videos for the first two weeks of January to complete in your own time.
