07.01.2022 Prime Minister Scott Morrison (ScoMo) has unveiled further unprecedented measures to limit the spread of COVID-19 which will apply from midnight tomorrow night.... Building and construction remain an essential service, and "Everyone that has a job in this economy is an essential worker." The Prime Minister said people should only go outside if they are exercising, buying food and supplies, seeking medical care, going to work if they cannot work from home, and fulfilling caring responsibilities. "We have to change the way we interact as human beings in our society," he said. "We know that this is a massive change to our lives, but if we do it patiently and with understanding, we will get through this." Strict social distancing and hygiene practices must be exercised on all sites. All employers and workers in the building and construction industry must treat this situation very seriously and with the highest importance.
