25.01.2022 Happy Tuesday to all our van park family !!. Its all been happening here this week with lots of laughing and good times. The fish are on the bite throughout south western QLD, the garden is blooming forth and our littlest resident got a new truck( 1952 Austin K2 ) however she was not too happy when we told her that she has to learn to drive it before she gets her licence. Lastly, thank you to everyone who commented ( both publicly and privately) about our recent TripAdvisor award, without you the van park would not be what it is today. Have a awesome afternoon and take care everyone.

23.01.2022 Wishing our van park family a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Look forward to seeing you in 2021. Love from the Evening Star in Charleville .

22.01.2022 Happy Friday to our van park family!.... what a wonderful surprise to wake up to this morning as some of our Acacia podalyriifolia (QLD silver wattle) started to flower last night. They will continue to bloom for the next 4 or 5 days and it will be a lovely show of colour for the next couple of weeks. The erompholia ( emu bush) on the walkway to the office is also coming along nicely and it too will look fantastic over the next few months. Have a great day everyone!

21.01.2022 A happy New Year to our van park family!!. We have been very fortunate the last month with some good rain every week or so. The park is looking exceptional. The rain has settled the dust and all the native and vege seedlings planted in early December are powering along. We are embarking on some infrastructure projects over the next month, so we will keep you updated as things progress. All the best for 2021 and we will see you soon around the biggest campfire in south west QLD!!

20.01.2022 Happy Tuesday to our van park family!!, we are just warming up for the evening. The park is full with guests, the fire is blaring and Alec Beckett is on song!!

20.01.2022 You never know what you might see near the woolshed at the Evening Star

17.01.2022 Bag pipes at the vanpark. Happy weekend everyone and have a good week.

16.01.2022 How splendid is this little fellow who just caught his dinner! One of our visiting van park family took these few photos a couple of days ago whilst bush walking through the Mulgalands of the EVENING STAR. This is a Splendid fairywren ((Malurus splendens) and we believe it may be one of several subspecies that occur within the genus, with the one pictured possibly being the Turquoise fairywren (Malurus splendens callainus).... FUN FACT: The Splendid fairywren is notable for several peculiar behavioural characteristics; the birds are socially monogamous and sexually promiscuous, meaning that although they form pairs between one male and one female, each partner will mate with other individuals and even assist in raising the young from such trysts. Male wrens pluck pink or purple petals and display them to females as part of a courtship display. Have an awesome day everyone!

16.01.2022 This is where we live! A quick run down the Warrego river, south of Charleville. Most of the riparian vegetation you can see on the banks is river red gum, coolibah and narrow leaf wattle. There is Murray cod, Eel tailed catfish and Yellow belly in there somewhere. Thanks to Brendan Edwards for the footage. Enjoy!

15.01.2022 Our Friday night fire at the van park

14.01.2022 Hey there van park family. Our Tuesday night campfire running hot like Alec Beckett on guitar.

12.01.2022 Happy Friday to our van park family!!, a few pictures of the unplugged intimate performance last night by Alec Beckett around the campfire to a small group of guests. Take care everyone and have a great weekend.

11.01.2022 Happy Friday afternoon to our Australia wide van park family....a little trip down memory lane to show change over time at the woolshed . In March 2018 we embarked on the journey with astronomer Greg to give visitors to SW QLD an opportunity to have a bouquet celestial experience. The success of the venture has been exceptional. The star gazing experience at the woolshed saw the start of the landscaping and look at it now...some may say the growth has been astronomical!!. Pictures from May 2018 to today. Have a great weekend everyone.

11.01.2022 Woohoo....a glorious 20 mm (80 points) rainfall here at the Evening Star overnight. The hopbush and emubush must have known it was coming as they had a big show of blooms yesterday. Have a great Friday van park family!!

10.01.2022 A glorious 15mm of rain at the Evening Star late yesterday afternoon and now the place looks clean and refreshed plus the garden has grown overnight. As it is school holidays, our littlest resident has been doing chook yard tours for little people and showing them how to hold the bantams correctly. Take care everyone!!

10.01.2022 Monday night campfire at the Evening Star

10.01.2022 Check out these little knitted bilbies made by Joan ! Each one is beautifully hand made and they are all individually named , starting with the letter B. Joan has donated these knitted treasures to help raise awareness and financial support for the Save the Bilby Fund . Joan has even made some small Bilby ponchos for little people and Amelia is modelling one of the ponchos while deciding which Bilby she would like to take home!. Take care everyone and have an awesome week !

09.01.2022 Happy Sunday to our van park family!!, Spring has arrived at the Evening Star and everything is blooming. Some of our lovely guests have been florists in the past and have made some beautiful bouquets from our gardens. Have a awesome day everyone!!

08.01.2022 Check out this big boy. This is a wide mouth or new holland frog ( cyclorana novaehollandiae), they are a ground dwelling and burrowing frog found throughout QLD and northern NSW. We are on its most south westerly distribution. Maximum size is 10 cm but this one was a whopping 13 cm long!, we scooped him out and put him back under the trough and then placed a good sized mulga branch in the trough in case he got back in, as being a ground dwelling frog, they will drown if they cannot get out of a trough or bucket...happy frog Wednesday van park family!!

08.01.2022 Well I am back again........for another night!!... ALEC BECKETT is now live at the van park people

08.01.2022 Good morning to all our van park family across Australia! We have had a busy week with school holidays on and lots of visitors and guests from the east coast of QLD out having a look throughout south west QLD. Here are a few pictures taken by Peter the last few days. Take care everyone!

05.01.2022 Happy Sunday van park family! The emu bush is now in full bloom and the ringneck parrots are loving it. Have a awesome day!

02.01.2022 Our littlest resident decided that she wanted to make a damper to celebrate Australia day ( yes ..she has her own little campoven). So we took the opportunity to give all the campovens a clean up as well. We will give them a soak in vinegar and water for a day , wire brush them all and then a coat of oil....so they are right to go for 2021!!
